I love HGTV shows and want to love this one especially because I live in a Rocky Mountain state. However the judging for week 2 was bad. The winners had a loft in a master bedroom for kids which for privacy concerns, borders on creepy. The bathroom shower had a wood ceiling and the electrical outlets were not complete or centered. It was not a winnable space for me. Another couple had what the judges called an unusable closet but one judge wants large closets and put that personal spin on the judging. If the home is a cabin or mountain home, you would not need a complete closet - it is a vacation home essentially. This result has disappointed me and makes me feel that the judging will be inconsistent and rob other teams. Not a fan at this point.
More importantly, buy this at your own risk. Imagine spending well over a million on a house with the literal worst most shoddy construction that is so rushed you may have a wall fall down. I don't think the teams are not talented however they rush them in the most unrealistic time line that you really can't expect that any of this work will look well or stand up to any wear and tear. It all seems very wasteful. All the shows in this series have the same issue of being so rushed that is can't possibly be done well. The contrived drama is a bit much as well and there could be a more positive spin on this with a bit of creativity but HGTV productions seem to be stuck within the same formula for EVERYTHING.
