Pleasingly, the two characters you might expect to be in a sulk here aren't too bad.Maddy is predictably upset about Spencer and Sasha's relationship but does her best to accept it and remain on good terms. The scene where she reminisces with Spencer and excludes Sasha is an odd reversal of Spencer and Sasha ignoring Maddy and chatting about their fathers, which kind of underlines how absurd that scene was.The choice Maddy makes at the end is probably the right one.
Meanwhile, Casey proves a surprisingly good big brother figure to Jett as he gives him some insight into VJ's feelings towards Nina.(The Transformers talk is brilliant, especially Jett's reaction to it.) Unfortunately, VJ sticks to his guns and doesn't really give Jett any other choice but the one he makes.Equally unfortunately, Ricky's return, and Brax making the same choice as Kyle(which underlines his own hypocrisy), pushes Casey over the edge, although it's Kyle and Tamara who will be affected by the decision he makes.
