An excellent film.

This first time film by Gretl Claggett, made with a very low budget, is extremely captivating while dealing with a very sensitive subject. Using children in films is always a challenge, and while this film deals with a painful subject (that none of us want to face or discuss) I did not feel that the child actress was compromised. Julianne Moore's voice is perfect and her reading of the poem, that the film is based on, is touching and enhances the sensitivity of the subject. Viewers are made to think while watching this film and the silence of the audience at the conclusion only proves that we all need to face this problem in our society. I highly recommend this film and think perhaps it could be used in education. We need to talk about this and find a way to put a stop to this crime.
