Coming 2 America is set to sow its royal oats on Amazon Prime Video.
Paramount has sold the distribution rights to the film, a sequel to star Eddie Murphy’s 1988 signature comedy hit, Coming to America, to Amazon Studios for around $125 million, as sources tell Variety. With the deal reportedly locked, the film is now expected to premiere on the retail giant’s streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video, on December 18. The move, of course, is a response to the stagnant state of a pandemic-era global box office. Indeed, the sequel was originally slated to hit theaters on August 7, 2020 before a Christmas release window was considered.
Besides being a very-2020 development, the sequel’s acquisition by Amazon will see it join a growing lineup of Covid distribution refugees such as the October 23-scheduled Borat sequel and Michael B. Jordan-headlined Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse. However, Coming 2 America’s transition from...

Truthfully, I was never scared by anything that happens in Apparition, a film by Quinn Saunders that is now hitting home video. But I was unsettled, at times, and disquieted, occasionally, by the atmosphere of a big empty house and its lonely inhabitant, because it strikes close to home in its thematic treatment of loneliness and despair. Doug (Jody Quigley) appears to be an affable, low-key sort of fellow, which doesn't quite square with his career as a successful Wall Street financial professional. Still, he has a lovely girlfriend named Lori (Katrina Law) and a lovely country home in upstate New York, so he must be doing something right. He and Lori get engaged, but they get into an ugly tiff after her old boyfriend...

The Nesting is a supernatural thriller from director Quinn Saunders. Previously titled Remorse, this film deals with a man, tormented by grief. Now, ghosts and hauntings linger everywhere as Doug (Jody Quigley) relives a tragedy, over and over again. This title stars Katrina Law, Lili Bordán and Airen DeLaMater. An early trailer and stills for The Nesting are hosted here. The film begins with the death of Doug's fiancee, Lori (Law). She dies violently in a car accident. Doug finds some solace in an isolated cabin. But, he also finds memories at this locale, which a spirit will not let him forget. The first trailer for the film is here. The clip shows Doug settling in to the cabin. A neighbour comes by, but she might not be who she appears to be. One part psychological thriller and one part ghost story, The Nesting will be releasing soon, once completed.
