doubles ruin the story-line Warning: Spoilers
A lot of effort obviously went into this. That juggernaut missile launcher truck does not go unnoticed, the incoming rocket, the exploding tower building, WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY is that you have the makings of something much better here, but as for the human element, The Pay-Off is all a letdown. I thought, aw, skip the review, I'm only gonna rain on the fans' parade, cause of course there's a hell of a lot of excitement in this episode and there is not a shortage of the kind of thrills that keep the "likely fans" glued to the screen, but when I Googled the episode to place the sad Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) quote, I saw the highlights of an entry on another site echoing my sentiment:

It's all empty! It doesn't go anywhere! Season Four is just doubles! Doubles, doubles! You the hell tell me, scriptwriter, how come "fake" Amanda knew about Helen, the real Amanda's secret alter ego? And not only that, the double would have had no reason to act like the real Amanda down to the last detail. The double would only have been needed to look like Amanda.

I put it to you, scriptwriters, and die-hard fans who do not want the series criticized, THAT SEASON FOUR IS A BUNCH OF JUNK. Pointless junk. That could have been salvageable had this stupid inane "doubles" idea been thrown out or at least cut short or tempered by the doubles themselves going haywire.

All just a cheap trick to see Amanda dying in a blast, but no, not Amanda, silly people, it was her double. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

That's the only pay-off you get from an ardent fan of Season One. Sorry, but I feel cheated. Who hijacked the ship?
