Carrie takes a risk
Tweekums6 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
After last week's surprising revelation that Carrie's time in the psychiatric hospital was part of a ploy to draw out those responsible for the attack on the CIA Carrie risks all her hard work after Jessica Brody approaches her for help looking for her missing daughter. Carrie reaches out to a somewhat unwilling FBI contact and it is unsure whether or not those who were keeping an eye on her realise that she had briefly slipped away; if they have she could be in extreme danger. Meanwhile Saul is invited to a shooting weekend where he expects to be confirmed as the permanent director of the CIA but ends up learning that is not to be.

After a succession of downbeat episodes where it looks as though protagonist Carrie had been abandoned by the CIA it was nice to see it was all part of a plan and see her going after the bad guys again; this gave some real drama and a good cliff hanger ending. Saul's storyline may not have been as dramatic but it did serve to give him a fixed time frame to make a breakthrough before handing over the agency to a man with different ideas about how to deal with suspected terrorists. As always the acting was solid; I particularly like Rupert Friend's portrayal of Quinn; a character who initially seemed to be a threat to Carrie but now seems to be her guardian angel. Overall I thought this was a good episode and hopefully it signals a return to the fight against terrorism as opposed to characters having problems!
