Wonderful!
ahad_00021 October 2013
This episode has certainly brought the wow factor back in Homeland. Honestly, season 3 has been pretty disappointing and yawn producing from the beginning. The first three episodes were pretty slow in comparison to the previous ones. But 'Game on' will get you excited once again. As the title of this episode says, the Game is ON from now on. In addition, a new sub plot is growing in stature. And it will be interesting to see how this one pans out. I am expecting a few more twists are in the horizon. But having said that, since it's Homeland, I don't think any of my prediction will be accurate. At the end of this episode, a lot of questions will be answered and a lot of new questions will arise.

You are not expecting this!

Just finished watching the latest episode of Homeland and the ending blew me away. I'm not spoiling anything, but there is a major plot twist that is worth watching! Seeing the first three episodes of season 3 made me think that the smartness of the CIA, Carrie and Brody had come to an end. I really thought that Homeland was going downhill but in this episode it became clear that it really isn't! I'm curious to see the next episode! I am really loving the show, but I hope that it will focus a bit more on Brody in the upcoming episodes. Overall, this was a very good episode, but not a 10 for me, because I know there were better episodes and there definitely will be better ones. Great episode and tremendous acting by Claire Danes once again!

Carrie gets out but is she really free?
Tweekums27 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
After last week's downbeat episode it looks as though things are about to get better for Carrie; she is having another hearing to see if she should be released from the psychiatric institution and her doctors think it will go well. It doesn't go as expected though; she is told that she is not going to be released because she is considered a threat to national security. An appeal is demanded and much to her surprise she is released… only to find the suspicious lawyer waiting at her house. He tells her that if she refuses to meet his boss she will be back in the hospital before the day is over. She tries to leave the city but with her assets frozen that is impossible so she ends up meeting the man. It quickly becomes apparent that he is working for the Iranians and they want her to start giving them certain information. Meanwhile back at the CIA Saul and Fara are still following the money trail and believe they have found a lead to an Iranian who is skimming money from their operation in Caracas. In a third plot line Dana helps her boyfriend escape from the psychiatric hospital.

Those viewers hoping that Brody's appearance last week would signal his full time return to the series may be disappointed as once again he doesn't feature. However if you just want things to be less depressing you should be happy; Carrie's release may not have been under ideal circumstances but at least it got her out of the hospital and served to advance the plot… there was also a nice twist at the end; I'm sure some viewers will have suspected it but I confess I didn't! The goings on at the CIA might not have been exciting but they served to advance the plot and the Caracas connection made it obvious that Brody will return to the main story fairly soon which is good. The only week part of the episode was that involving Dana and her boyfriend; it just seemed a bit of a distraction; hopefully it will become more relevant later.

Exciting and unpredictable
calebyash25 October 2013
The third episode of new season really was exciting. I didn't see the twist coming. It was quite unpredictable. However, the first two were bit slow and sloppy but this episode got Homeland on track. The acting was very much engaging especially that of Clarie Danes and Mandy Pantinkin. The suspense was very subtle and dexterously maintained in the first two episodes. I believe the writes deliberately made the former episodes bit slowly to hit the audience with the thrill and suspense in the third episode.

I will give 8 out of 10 for this episode and I can't wait to see what lies next in Homeland! For those who thought Homeland is out of Game, well it is Game ON now...Let's wait and see how this season plays on.

Amazing
alex-984-7084228 September 2021
First I though Season 3 would focus more on the Personal Stories of the characters. I must admit that I was pretty annoyed by the Carrie is bipolar thing and wondered how long we would have to endure that. But, wow, the end of this episode is amazing!!! Won't spoil anything, but this is a great spy plot unfolding! Great!

The writers are creative they think outside the box, and the actors convinced me of what happened, especially Carrie

Some Inconsistencies
marimiller-820756 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Luv this show. However some annoying plot flaws. So there is the big surprise reveal that Carrie's commitment to Psych Ward is all part of Saul's secret plan to catch the person responsible for the bombing at Langley. Ok, great story line and brilliant plan for Carrie to infiltrate the organization responsible. So, why does Saul act shocked, surprised & scared to see Carrie when she visits him? And, why does Carrie say to Saul "you should have got me out of the hospital?" Doesn't make sense. I luv the Brody character but hate what is happening to him now. Dana plot line is boring but I suppose would appeal to the teenage fans of show. But she is always so drole, talking like a depressed robot. Can't the writers make her a little more energetic, at least once??

Picking up after three miserable episodes
dierregi31 March 2021
On the bright side, Carrie manages to get out of the hospital and we finally start to understand what the main plan could be, although the path seems a bit more than muddy.

Saul and the Muslim girl find out who is - or would most likely be - behind the CIA bombing. We're supposed to warm up to Muslim girl, because she's so bright but everything about her screams out "plot device".

Mike's also back, supporting Jessica, but honestly at this stage who cares what's going on with the Brody's bunch? Yet we are force-fed their presence.

On the even more negative side, grumpy Dana is also back, to kidnap her screwed up boyfriend and running away with him, so that she can tell once more her sob story about her evil dad, etc...

I so wish Dana and boyfriend would crash their car and die, but I have a feeling it won't be so easy to get rid of them.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm sick of Dana seriously, I just wish they stop this stupid subplot about her and her love interests.

I'm not convinced of the twist involving Carrie at the end. I mean was Saul betraying her part of the plan?, was putting her in the hospital part of the plan? was her trying to escape part of the plan? was freezing her account part of the plan? I just don't know when was it all part of the plan. I hope it will be explain more in the coming episode.

How can a show suck so much
rockyrakesh133123 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is my first review and I am not easily stirred. This series sucks big time. First of all I hate Dana and her stupid acting. Carrie is irritating every time she puts on an emotion I hate it and 99% times she is crying, dude that is not acting, it's easy to make that face. You will be a bit surprised by the end of this episode(i didn't expect) but then you will think was it worth watching this episode because it wasn't.

Brody had potential but the producers seem to be stuck with Dana and Carrie and Saul(the Jewish guy, not to mention the producer is Jewish).

I just don't understand why do they assume everyone except CIA is in the wrong state of mind and why does Carrie hate everyone except CIA so much.
