When the show was last on in June, Jenna had finally given into her chemistry with Collin and Ming had assumed the role of head of the Asian mafia, while everyone else was rather the same. Upon the return though, Ming has dramatically changed, despite there being less than a week between the last episode and this one, in their world, and Jenna seems ready to move on from Matty. The reason I say that is because she cannot keep her lips off of Collin. It's so bad that Tamara catches the two making out.
This leads to Tamara showing another part of her personality: the inability to keep a major secret. Due to this, throughout the episode she releases a handful of secrets like having a yeast infection and someone not having pubic hair. Unfortunately the gag wasn't as funny as it could have been, but it still was a bit comical. But, one of the main focuses of the episode was Jenna's upcoming birthday which her mom wanted to do a surprise party for. Thing is, her mom is probably worse than Tamara when it comes to keeping secrets and she gives it away. Still though, she throws that party, unbeknownst to Jenna, and the episode ends with Jenna and Collin making out in front of the entire cast, including Matty.
Overall, this was a good way to comeback and it definitely ended with a bang. I kind of think this would have made for a better mid-season finale than what we got, but I'm not in charge of anything. Still, here is hoping that the hiatus did the show well and that it doesn't fall prey to the issues most shows with a full season order do.
