Sex & Nudity

  • A woman is shown lying down while wearing a T-shirt that falls off her shoulder and reveals her upper thigh.
  • Two men and a boy pour cornstarch in their pants due to the extreme heat and humidity that they're experiencing. Nothing is truly seen and this scene is played for humor.
  • A man holds a long loaf of bread to his crotch jokingly.
  • Several women in the background of restaurants and bars wear tight fitting dresses.
  • One of the main characters wears low-cut and tight-fitting outfits regularly (however this is still non-sexual).
  • During a scene that takes place at a beach, women are shown wearing bikinis and men are shown wearing swim trunks (some cleavage and bare abdomens).
  • A man and a woman move close together and nearly kiss until the woman says that they agreed "not to do this."
  • Three men hug and one of them jokes that they should "just have a three way right here." This is said in a comedic way.
  • A boy asks his father if he's signing up for Twitter "for sex". The father immediately denies it (plus, the audience already knows that he isn't). This moment in meant to be funny.
  • Two men sing the lyrics of the song "Sexual Healing". Played for laughs.

Violence & Gore

  • 1 man is shouting at the other badly in the restaurant, use of words as a**hole.
  • Some quick shots of a raw pig being cut up but nothing graphic.

Profanity

  • Language is the primary reason for the film's R rating.
  • Almost all of the language is used in the first half of the movie, and it cleans up whenever kids are around.
  • About 53 F-words and its derivatives--once by a child (with his father's permission),11 mild obscenities and 3 religious exclamations.
  • Some swearing is present in scenes with Spanish subtitles.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A couple of scenes with a man and a woman smoking what can be assumed to be a marijuana cigarette.
  • A man gives a child beer which he drinks and immediately says it's gross. His father tells him to remember that when someone offers him beer in the future.
  • A couple of characters smoke cigarettes and cigars in a few scenes.
  • There is a scene where everyone takes a celebratory shot in a bar and a few other scenes where people are drinking beer or "cerveza" (Spanish for beer).
  • Wine is served in a fancy restaurant.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The majority of the film is rather lighthearted, with only one or two scenes that are more dramatic but nothing too serious.
  • There's some shouting but it's not intense.
