A strange, scato-comical ancestor of 'Rick and Morty'
jamesrupert201431 March 2023
A Bill Cosby-obsessed fan devises a cloning machine for the express purpose of creating his own personal copy of the comedian only to discover that successive Cosby-clones are increasingly strange, ranging from obsessive cleaners to super-heroes. An early product from 'Rick and Morty' creator Justin Roiland, the crude (in more than one sense of the word) animated shorts are sporadically amusing (although more due to 'shock' than 'wit') and I suspect that the extant four episodes (~29 minutes) is about all I could sit through. The roots of Roiland's clever, funny and highly successful 'Rick and Morty' series is evident. The story behind the show's 'cancellation' is entertaining (as is the brief, obscene '5th episode' rebuttal). Available on-line as of this writing.

Taken to soon

This mini-series is odd yet wonderful and doesn't take long to watch. you can really see this show comes from a place of love towards Mr William Henry "Bill" Cosby Jr which makes it even sadder that it was cut down in its prime by the man it was a love letter to. I believe every man, woman and anybody else should watch this show just so we can get the thrilling conclusion because i'm pretty sure Bill Cosby's lawyers wouldn't try anything considering is current reputation.

cancellation lead to rick and morty

Great show, I remember watching it when it came out and was upset when it was cancelled due to Cosby being a jerk. In response Roiland did another parody this time of Back to the Future with Doc and Mharti, who eventually evolved into Rick and Morty. So in a backwards kind of way Cosby being an @$$ blessed us with Rick and Morty.

an enjoyable miniseries

So after finishing and loving the first 2 seasons of Rick & Morty, I decided to look for some older creations of Justin Roiland, and for a low production budget and such a short length House of Cosbys has, I was not disappointed! Consisting of mere 5 minute episodes, the whole miniseries is watchable within 30 minutes; pretty much the standard length of one comedy episode! The idea of the show is just simply funny, original and definitely memorable. It's a shame the show had to be cancelled because of problems with Bill Cosby's lawyers, but that doesn't make these first 4 official episodes any less enjoyable.

Definitely worth your spare 20-25 minutes, definitely if you like Roilands other work.
