[6.6] Don't touch the steering!

A nice pilot with too much supernatural drama in it completed with shady faces, again for the sake of drama. It has good production value and acting and that's what saves it, for now.

Ravenswood: Episode 1
brittany-martin042728 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
First off, well done to the producers of Pretty Little Liars. Yes, PLL has been somewhat dark over the years but Ravenswood really takes the cake on that. One episode and I'm already pulled in! Alright so the episode starts off with Caleb Rivers, if you watch PLL then you should know that he is Hannah Marin's heartthrob of a boyfriend. Beside him lies a new face, Miranda Collins, who was abandoned after the tragic death of her parents by her uncle Raymond Collins when she was just three years old. Caleb and Miranda both met on a bus to Ravenswood, Caleb was on his way to find Hannah and Miranda was on her way to find her uncle hoping to reunite with him after all those years of being in an unpleasant foster care situation. Both Miranda and Caleb found tombstones with their names and faces on them, and are royally confused. Miranda just wanted to get answers from her uncle, and Caleb won't leave until he knows everything. After meeting her cold and uninviting uncle he agrees to let her stay in his mansion where Miranda comes in contact with the same ghost a couple of times, and this ghost even tried to drown Caleb in the bathtub. Caleb meets a young woman named Remy at the Ravenswood Gazelle while he is searching for answers, the two run into each other at the local coffee shop as well and get to talking. There is a pair of twins named Luke and Olivia who are dealing with the recent death of their father, whom may have been killed by their own mother according to the gossip of the town. Even Luke thinks she is the culprit, but the main point of this information is that the town is chalking everyone from that family as a murderer. Miranda decides that she wants to leave and go somewhere else because she is officially creeped out by all of the supernatural activities she is seeing, but Caleb wants more information about the grave with his name on it. On their way to the bus station Caleb recognizes Remy across the street and he follows her in hopes that she will help them find more information. What they find is rather disturbing. According to previous newspaper articles, Remy puts together that every time a soldier returns from war to Ravenswood a group of five people(mainly teens)are killed in some sort of terrible accident. The very end of the episode shows the five main characters of this new series; Caleb, Miranda, Remy, Luke and Olivia all in a car headed to get food when Miranda swerves the car after seeing the ghost in front of them, which lands them into the river and that is the end of the episode. I am very excited to see what this show has to offer, so far they are off to a very good start!
