Good movie with enough twists and turns to keep you watching
jbrownpro-062443 February 2023
Good film about a star football players struggle with living up to his family's expectations and trying to be a decent human. If you like dramas you'll likely enjoy this film.

The ending makes you question many of the decisions made. I wish the movie was about 20 min longer as it leaves you on a bit of a cliffhanger. A more detailed ending would have made this a classic film that I would likely watch again. As it stands I rate it a C+. If you e joy sports and ir teenage dramas this is the film for you. Totally random but the plot reminds me of the film Boys in the Hood. You have a small group of teenagers who seem destined to become trapped by the environment they grow up in. Obviously this film is more so rural in comparison but similar plot/ struggles.

Warning: Spoilers
Hank (Luke Kleintank) is the star of the football team destined for greatness. He goes on a hunting trip with two friends and reluctantly takes his little brother "Tiny" Tim (Austin Abrams). Tim has a hunting accident and shoots a man, but waits until the evening to tell anyone. The guys do the right thing. They look for the man and then transport him to the hospital, except he dies along the way. The gang agree to a cover up, but the rainy muddy night makes their plans difficult as bigger obstacles lie in their path.

Tim is the picked on kid who attempts to overcome his bullies. His brother Hank is too wrapped up in himself to help out his kid brother. This is the driving force in Tim's decision making. It is a drama/thriller that held my interest. Messed up ending.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Where's The Rest Of The Story??
Foutainoflife12 December 2018
High School football star, Hank, has all the skills to get somewhere in life. With hopes of an athletic scholarship, he and two friends decide to go on a hunting trip. Hank's younger, overlooked, asthmatic brother, looks up to him and Hank decides to let him tag along. They knowingly choose to legally hunt in a federal park and when they seperate, it starts a series of unfortunate events that will forever change their lives.

Not a unique plot but this was well acted even if it was on a low budget. It touches on issues of jealousy, naivety, morality and self preservation. I enjoyed this dramatic thriller and thought that it was moving along nicely but I hate how it ended. It was such an unsatisfying ended that it took a toll on my rating of the film. If you don't care about how it's going to end, by all means, this is a good watch.

Is this based on a true story?
deniston-9578122 December 2021
I can't find anything about it online. It doesn't say and I haven't finished the movie yet, but a little nervous now about the ending. The acting is amazing, but it definitely keeps your attention. Finishing up now. It's sad and tragic story, but seems to teach you a lesson. I think it would be amazing if teens could see this.

I would like to see the movie, but cannot find where to get it. Also, my daughter was an extra in it. Don't know if she made the cut, but I would still like to see it.

Sad Ending
guljannat22 April 2020
Besides, sad ending. None of the character could act professionally. Not a good story. The title should be MURDER NOT SACRIFICE in my view.

A film every Junior/Senior High school student should see, to stand up when you make even a BAD mistake.
brouse012217 February 2021
This movie depicts four teens who make mistakes, lying turn into a BAD mistake, their lies compound their punishment... Compounded by the over-zealous father of the football star son about to get a great scholarship-- determined not to let the kids' mistake ruin his future. Well cast, a story every child should see-- and as well as every parent raising kids in today's society with bullying, peer pressure, lies compounding lies. (I'll admit I am prejudiced because I worked on the film, but was glad to be a part of this caliber of film with a great moral to the story.
