Varun Sharma's character Choocha shares several similarities with the character Ed from the hit Cartoon Network animated series ED, EDD N EDDY(1999-2008), voiced by Matt Hill. Both are extremely dim witted, both tend to live in a world of fantasies based on pop culture, both take insults thrown upon them as a sign of love and friendship, both have fathers completely disinterested in their lives and mothers who never tend to side with them. In similar vein from the mentioned show, Pulkit Samrat's character Honey has traits equivalent to Eddy going by his love for quick money, hatred for academics and self-appointed bossy behaviour whilst Richa Chaddha's character and the film's main antagonist Bholi Punjaban has traits similar to the Kanker Sisters(also the antagonists of the cartoon show before the revealation of Eddy's brother in the finale episode) going by her toughness to engage in combat and the intimidating grip she holds on even the political elite of Delhi. Similarly Ali Faizal's character Zafar shares traits with Edd/Double D from the mentioned show, bearing in mind his ability to reason on a rational basis but getting struck with the hapless duo due to his emotionally distant surroundings while Pankaj Tripathi's character Panditji shares traits similar to Rolf, going by his garbled English, his tendency to go furious on Pulkit Samrat's and Varun Sharma's antiques and his proud farming background as revealed in the third part of the series.
