- Joan Campbell: [after Henry Wilcox "bumps into" her] Doesn't it strike you as odd that he just happened to be here, drowning his sorrows at our neighborhood restaurant?
- Arthur Campbell: Well, Henry doesn't do anything without a purpose.
- Annie Walker: [discussion at Berlin Wall memorial] Henry said Arthur would step down within the week.
- Auggie Anderson: If you believe Henry, which I don't.
- Annie Walker: I can't take that chance. I need you, Auggie.
- Auggie Anderson: You have me. It's going to be fine.
- Annie Walker: [shakes her head] Then we have to go to Arthur or Joan.
- Auggie Anderson: No, because if the allegations against Arthur are true, we'd only be tipping him off. And the same goes for Joan.
- Annie Walker: You can't have it both ways. You can't say it's nothing and then say it's something.
- Auggie Anderson: All I'm saying is we need to give this time to sort itself out.
- Annie Walker: With you in jail... or worse?
- Auggie Anderson: Annie, this is what Henry Wilcox does. He thrives on chaos. He wants us to panic. To react. So he can find a vulnerability. Our best option is to not give him the satisfaction.
- [she nods]
- Auggie Anderson: Are you nodding? Tell me you're nodding.
- Annie Walker: [smiling] Yes.
- [he nods]
