Konkona is the saving grace
mmc-5783229 June 2023
Konkana segment-8.5 : layered/ great use of visuals and sound/ true to the theme Last segment -6/10 : Nothing unusual. Soapy melodramatic dialogues but the ending made sense to me.

Balki segment - 1.5/10 : preachy cliched and overacted. I legit sided with the trad parents on this one.

Sujoy Ghosh segment - 2/10 : adding cleavage and sex scenes does not make it a lust story. Not sure what the choice of shooting in a studio setting was meant to convey. Some ode to bollywood bcoz the protagonist was named Vijay Chauhan i guess. Not sure if his choices were dictated by greed or lust. Overall confused bit.

Lust is missing, the stories are there
chandrabhanusolanki29 June 2023
The problem with these kind of movies lies with the lust they want to sell. Even without those scenes the story can work and believe me this time the stories are fine.

The first story must not be Rated A if it was not in this movie. The story contains nothing in the name of lust.

The second Story portray some kind of illegal behavior but still you don't sympathize with any of the characters.

The third story in which Tamannah and Vijay is there wants to surprise you but fails miserably. What you can predict was there in the end and you are left unsatisfied there.

The fourth story which is predictable also leaves you puzzled about the name of this movie.

Atleast try to justify the title of movie.

A soft porn movie for 2 hours
nairabh29 June 2023
Lust Stories 2 is not a good sequel from part 1. There are 4 different stories directed by prominent directors of bollywood.

1. R Balki's story was good . Neena Gupta was the best in that part 2. Konkana Sen sharma directed story was the best out of the lot. Tilotama shone was perfect in the role.

3. Sujay gosh story was horror and didn't give much impact. Vijay verma's acting was good in that stor 4. This was directed by Amit Sharma dont know how Kajol was casted in this .

A below average story.

Overall it was like a Soft porn movie for 2 hours. Definitely not as great as Lust stories 1.

It's just a one time watch especially the 1st 2 stories.

Not a patch on the first one, but anyway watchable
Peter_Young16 September 2023
Okay, let's start with my review of the four episodes:

Made for Each Other - R. Balki I felt this chapter was the most ordinary of the four, and I do understand that culturally, in India, there's some shock value to the fact that a grandmother would be so racy and vocally conscious of the importance of sex and intimacy. That said, the episode just entirely relies on this gimmick and even though it's not bad, it does seem to have no point. It could easily have gone down as a random clip on social media which aims to provide some educative content, but a very superficial one, frankly speaking. Obviously, Neena Gupta is fun and does a good job, but this episode as a whole just doesn't leave a mark.

The Mirror - Konkona Sen Sharma Well, it's easily the strongest part of them all - in terms of story, script, direction, acting and execution, as well as the issues it addresses, from sex, loneliness to social class. Konkona does a fantastic job with an episode that so intelligently explores the desires of women from different strata of society. And their social class is not even a factor when it comes to their personal desires as they are equal. Tillotama Shome seems to have carved her own niche in the film industry with some wise choices, and she is fantastic here. After Sir, where she played the maid to perfection, it's interesting to see her assume the part of the employer. Doubtlessly though, it is Amruta Subhash who absolutely nails it in the part of the maid and gradually proves herself as one of the most impressive character actresses in India today. Her performance is a portrait of rage, honesty and compassion, which is exactly what this interesting episode ends up being.

Sex with Ex - Sujoy Ghosh Now this is a very basic sort of thriller, and it's quite intriguing, but it's also quite banal and formulaic. Vijay Varma can always be counted on to deliver the goods, and he's quite good here, but the episode as a whole is quite a thankless task. Tamanna Bhatia is equally effective in the part but the episode concludes on such a predictable note it's amazing a director as good as Ghosh would ever have thought this could pass as something even remotely original or impactive. It's watchable, but it's forgettable.

Tilchatta - Amit Sharma Well, anything for Kajol. Try to watch it and imagine another actress in the part, it will just not work. Kajol's presence indeed makes up for many of the flaws, for the dark and gloomy atmosphere, for the pacing, and for the story which relays hardly any positive or redeeming messages. Very well acted though. Kumud Mishra is plain excellent as the abusive drunk, really very good and very easy to hate. It is obviously Kajol though who carries the entire segment on her able shoulders. Her eyes reveal the complexity of her situation, and she so easily slips into the shoes of an ordinary, troubled woman. The final twist is quite upsetting, and it has various interesting messages, one of which relates to the two faces of plotted revenge. Sometimes the immediate solution is the good one.

A forgettable set of stories with one standout! [+41%]
arungeorge1329 June 2023
Thoughts summed up: Lust Stories 2 is a subpar anthology that'll only be remembered for Konkona Sen Sharma's standout segment. The rest are largely forgettable, leaving little in the way of impact.

Made for Each Other (R Balki): An ad-level concept stretched and squeezed all the way but nothing really stands out here. Neena Gupta's granny role sounded interesting at first, but quickly gets preachy and intolerable after a point (rockstar, my foot!). The ending is.. well, just an ending.

The Mirror (Konkona Sen Sharma): Stunner! Not only is the voyeur concept refreshingly presented, this segment also has the best payoff. Both Tillotama Shome and Amrutha Subhash are excellent in their respective roles. The scenes where the ladies lose their cool and their eventual reconciliation were remarkably directed.

Sex with Ex (Sujoy Ghosh): Apart from Tamannaah's unfiltered beauty, there isn't much to relish here. The story is a mess, the CGI countryside is an even bigger mess, and the climactic twist was seen coming 72 miles away.

Tilchatta (Amit Ravindernath Sharma): The plot is as old as it gets. Did this segment really need someone the calibre of Kajol? The twist at the end was fascinating (yet sad), and I think this should have swapped positions with Konkona's segment.

LUST STORIES 2:-cannot match the first part
puranjanbasak7 July 2023
Lust stories 2 is a romantic drama anthology film directed by several directors.

Made for each other by R Balki:-One of the very few surface level, passable films by balki. The subject matter of sex education and its importance in married life is on point, but the treatment is very meh type. It works well as a comic short, but never soars to an exceptional height. Mrunal thakur performed very weak in this short. There was no x-factor.

The mirror by konkana sen sharma:-This is the excellent one of the four stories by miles. Tilottama shome and amruta subhash give two epic performances. The subject matter of voyeurism is very well portrayed. This short makes sex look pleasurable and enjoyable. It also makes a very sharp remark on human ego and class and economic differences. There is one shot, where the camera shifts from a fingering tilottama touching herself watching the two of them have sex, to them having sex and then to a calendar and back to tilottama through amruta. That shot itself elevates this shot head and shoulders above the rest.

Sex with ex by sujoy ghosh:-one of the most childish and amatuerish works by sujoy ghosh. First of all, the jarring visuals stick out as a sore thumb. I mean, who can suggest such poor sets for a film. The illogical twists are of no use, they are there just for the sake. The performances are nothing in front of what we have seen from vijay and tamannah maybe. Only positive is that the sex and romance is good, they manage to bring their real life magic onto the screen.

Tilchatta by amit ravindernath sharma:-this is another fine short by amit sharma. The screenplay builds up the tension and suspense on what is going to happen next. The performances by kumud mishra, kajol excite the narrative. The ending twist within the twist is unprecedented as well. It really catches you offguard. The saying 'when you plan to take revenge, you have to dig two graves, one for the person, and one for yourself' is the gist of the short. This was a great short film.

Nothing lusty about
sameerlodaya29 June 2023
Sameer lodaya

There is nothing so much lusty about in fact the season 1 was better

The first anthology featuring mrunal was just emphasising sex in every sentence which was absolutely not required now a days no youngsters need this kind of knowledge specially when they are in relation so the content stands absurd

The anthology tillotama was good among all the others the content was new of fascination and was never shown before the making was also very good

The so called sizzling anthology of tamanna was hot but the content was very old here you can enjoy new Tamanna and vijay

Now the last anthology of Kajol was boring but the climax was very good

This weekend we have many releases let's see who hits the chart.

Great movie
vermasingh1 July 2023
His ability to articulate nuanced feelings is outstanding. In Lust Stories 2, Vijay Verma effectively depicts the development of the protagonist. His story is compelling because of the depth and sympathy of his protagonist. The actors in Lust Stories 2 are superb. The superb ensemble cast makes it easy to empathise with their characters and their trials. Tamannah, as seen by Lust Stories 2, is a talented performer. She skilfully navigates her character's emotional development, which leaves a deep effect on the audience I am Really felt so good about this movie is is very useful and also has best concept with Great information i liked it.

Nothing fancy delivered what was expected.
santubhattacharjee29 June 2023
People who are saying this movie is worse than the last may not remember the first one probably. In first edition, there was 2 good segments, 1 mediocre segment and 1 terrible segment. This movie exactly has the same.

First story is too much spoon-feeding for audience. Similar to what R Balki generally keep on doing. Storyline is boring and gets irritating by the time it ends. They believed they could deliver like 'Badhai ho' but failed miserably.

Story 2 was mediocre but actingwise very much satisfied. Amrutha Subhash and Tillotama are masters. Direction from Koko di is perfect. No wonder.. it is in her genes.

Story 3 was straight out of Aeshop fables. And indeed there was a fairy. Tamannah is just drop 'dead' gorgeous (pun intended). But Vijay is getting stereotyped by doing same 'innocent face but evil intention' roles. Sad for him.

Story 4 was good but predictable. Kumud Mishra was best. Kajol just continued her role from 'Salaam Venky'. Nothing fancy to deliver considering her calibre.

All stories deteriorate more and more... Pathetic movie...
payaskarnad29 June 2023
Absolutely ZERO logic, most idiotic content and story, and absurd to a different level.... In today's world of anything sells under the word "sex & lust", this movie lacks plot, story, humour, music, everything.... The finest actors of the industry look foolish, insanely crazy and horrendous in each role. There's no depth to any story, the characters look too artificial and hard to believe...

Rubbish content... Why is everyone so obsessed nowadays with such idiotism?

The stories aren't bad - THEY'RE PATHETIC...

Save yourself, watch anything but this... It isn't lust stories, it's a disaster series that'll ruin any day/evening of anyone...

Great Story its just awesome
shalinapamdey1 July 2023
The designers of Lust Stories 2 have made a very stunning show. Superb visuals and strategically placed pieces elevate the story in each episode. In Lust Stories 2, Tamannah's stunning performance is the show-stopper. She seems to be born to play this role, and it shows in every performance. Lust Stories 2 features more great writing. The sharp dialogue and well-rounded characters in each episode make for a vibrant and interesting watch. In Lust Stories 2, Vijay Verma continually gives a performance that stands out Awesome!!! Really this is a Amazing story I liked this!! Wonderful story i liked this one so good information with best Concept!

Lust in the air
"Generally, anthologies provide a bittersweet experience, but this one has fewer variations than the others, making it possibly better than them. The best one I have watched will still be "Wild Tales." However, despite being sluggish in a few areas, Lust Stories 2 will be a god watch directed by multiple directors, revolves around the central theme of 'Sex.' One story focuses on a happy ending is the weakest among the stories as a veteran like Neena fails to pull it off because of the cheesy lines she has been given. Very poorly written script and dialogues I must say.

Two stories are horror and thriller are the average ones , they try to give you shocking climax but fail because of the weak script again.

However, one is a delicately crafted psychological story. The best among the four, in my opinion, is Konkona's segment "The mirror", where you can feel a woman telling a woman's story.

All in all a watchable attempt. The actresses featured in the anthology are renowned, such as Kajol, Tamanna, and Mrunal, ensuring a good viewing experience.

what a trash netflix india has become.
MrAyushGarg2 July 2023
As an avid viewer of Lust Stories, I was excited when I heard about the release of its sequel. However, my anticipation quickly turned into disappointment as I sat through Lust Stories 2. It pains me to say this, but this anthology film falls short on multiple levels and fails to capture the essence of its predecessor.

One of the glaring issues with Lust Stories 2 is its forgettable nature. Unlike its predecessor, which had memorable and thought-provoking stories, this sequel lacks the same impact. The narratives are poorly developed and lack depth, leaving the viewer feeling disconnected and uninterested. It is disheartening to witness such a decline in storytelling quality.

Furthermore, the stories presented in Lust Stories 2 can only be described as pathetic, boring, and outright stupid. The plotlines are predictable, unoriginal, and fail to engage the audience. There is a distinct lack of creativity in the execution of each story, making them feel like recycled and half-hearted attempts to cash in on the success of the original.

It is disheartening to see talented directors and actors wasting their potential on such an idiotic project. The performances in Lust Stories 2 are overshadowed by weak writing and uninspired storytelling. Even the most skilled actors struggle to salvage the poorly written characters, leaving them with little material to work with.

One cannot help but feel disappointed by Netflix India's downward spiral. Lust Stories, the original anthology film, was a breath of fresh air, pushing boundaries and exploring complex themes. However, Lust Stories 2 feels like a mere cash-grab attempt, lacking the vision and creativity that made its predecessor so impactful.

In conclusion, Lust Stories 2 fails to deliver on multiple fronts. Forgettable stories, pathetic execution, and a distinct lack of creativity make this anthology film a regrettable experience. It is disheartening to witness the decline in quality and the missed opportunity to create something meaningful. Lust Stories 2 is a stark reminder of what trash Netflix India has become, leaving fans longing for the innovation and brilliance they once brought to the screen.

A not so lusty part 2!
ConfusedRoulette30 June 2023
Out of the 4 stories, I liked "The Mirror" by Konkona Sen Sharma & "Tilchatta" by Amit Ravindernath Sharma.

"The Mirror" was successful in portraying the hidden sexual fantasies among some people.

"Tilchatta" had a brilliant twist in the climax showing how an evil plan backfires due to a sexual urge that can't be kept hidden forever!

The other 2 stories weren't that promising.

"Made for each other" by R Balki where the portrayal of the idea that sex is the only thing that makes a happy and long lasting marriage, felt unconvincing to me.

"Sex with the Ex" by Sujoy Ghosh was an amateurish direction with a weak plotline. Although I couldn't take my eyes of the voluptuous Tamanna Bhatia.

Subpar sequel 's'anthology
rahulvaidya0552 July 2023
This sequel (or should it be called a sequel since the first one was a mix of stories based on a similar broader subject i.e. Anthology) by 4 different directors again gets a big thumbs down. Apart from that one story, for which an extra star has been given to this 'anthology series' (you can very well guess to whom that star belongs), every other story just doesn't work on the subject matter. A lacklustre series of stories (apart from one of them) takes a strong theme and turns it boring. And some 'same old useless' screenplay tropes makes it a 'seen that, now what' show and makes you think that you could have spent this time on useful self development instead of this cringe fest.

Very well made and presented
jkt20063 July 2023
It is so difficult to create and present a story to that runs for only 30 mins and is to leave a mark on the viewers mind be it the story, performances, script, cinematography and the overall direction. All the four episodes do a great job in delivering all the above. Yes, the stories are very differently placed compared to Lust Stories 1. They are more intricate and not vanilla icecream flavoured like part 2 so not all may appreciate it but they are very well produced and directed. Hats off to the directors, the producers and Netflix for bringing this project to the screen. I liked all four stories but My favourites are Episodes 1 and 3. Episode two by Konkana Sharma was good but I didn't like it technically speaking. Too much of dark lighting, under lighting somehow looked like the director is trying to win some award somewhere, when it is not a dark story but has grey shades to the characters, that's it.

Worst

Title: "A Trainwreck of Television: The Incomprehensibly Bad Series"

When it comes to bad TV series, it takes a special kind of catastrophe to achieve the level of sheer disappointment and incompetence that "The Incomprehensibly Bad Series" manages to deliver. From the cringe-worthy acting to the abysmal direction, this trainwreck of a show sets a new standard for how not to produce television.

Let's start with the acting, or rather, the lack thereof. It's as if the casting director had a vendetta against talent and chose the most wooden and unconvincing actors they could find. Every line is delivered with an awkwardness and lack of emotion that leaves the viewer questioning the casting decisions. Watching these actors stumble through their scenes is a painful experience, one that makes you question why they even pursued a career in acting in the first place.

But the issues don't stop there. The direction of this series is a masterclass in how not to guide a production. Scenes lack coherence and continuity, leaving the audience confused about the characters' motivations and the overall storyline. It feels like the director gave up halfway through and decided to simply point the camera randomly at different angles, resulting in a jumbled mess of shots that fail to engage or entertain.

Even the writing deserves a mention, and not in a positive way. The dialogue is trite, uninspired, and crammed with clichés. It's as if the writers took a collection of tired tropes from failed shows and threw them together without any consideration for originality or creativity. The plot, if one can call it that, is a convoluted mess that lurches from one nonsensical twist to another, leaving the audience bewildered and disinterested.

Awasome web series
shortscreaters2 July 2023
The performance given by Vijay Verma in Lust Stories 2 is unforgettable. It's no problem for him to switch gears from dramatic to comedic roles. The anthology style of Lust Stories 2 allows for the inclusion of stories told from a wide range of perspectives. Each episode offers fresh insights into the complexities of sexuality, love, and interpersonal relationships. All of the actors in Lust Stories 2 provide excellent performances. Each actor gives a quietly impressive performance that enriches and makes believable his or her role. In the second installment of ""Lust Stories,"" Vijay Verma shines."

Fun to watch
tariqzafar-120201 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Personally I liked the second and fourth one more.

Konkana sen brings a fun story exploring voyeurism. Tilotama Shome plays a woman living by herself in a city and has a house help taking care of her home in her absence played by Amruta Subhash. Shome discovers Subhash having sex with her husband but inside Shome's apartment. Initially she is repulsed but then she finds it as a way to vent her own sexual feelings by watching them having sex hiding in her own house. On the other hand Subhash realizes that Shome is watching and pleasuring herself. One day it leads to a standoff between them. As things cool off they warm up again and as it suggests begin this game of voyeur again. I would say a fun different angle.

First one having Neena Gupta I guess is too loud. She is a granny who is very vocal about her granddaughter trying sex with her arranged hubby before marrying. It could have been probably good doing this kind of talk in private but she brings up during family meetings and seemingly embarrasses everyone. And then is quite nosey in asking how it went. I think this story was a bit overdone as is not the case with even most liberal households.

I couldn't pay much of attention to the one having Vijay and Tamanna.

Last one with Kajol was interesting. Kajol is wife to an abusive man who treats women like toys and forces himself on them. You would think it would go the usual way of the abusive husband getting punished in the end and the woman will take a sweet revenge but there is a twist in the end. It was a bit unpredictable.

An Absolute trainwreck
amithu7774 July 2023
Honest review here. You can skip watching this movie & do yourself a huge favour. The movie is Poorly written. They seem to forget that today's youngsters are always watching this. They are like over promoting lust & sex, thinking that everything will sell under this.

There doesn't seem to be any kind of logic in this. Everything seems to be forced. They chose some of the finest in today's film industry for this movie. I expected this to be rocking but, turned out to be a huge disappointment.

"Lust Stories 2" was a disappointing sequel that failed to live up to the expectations set by its predecessor. Its disjointed storytelling, weak performances, and reliance on explicit content undermined any potential for a thought-provoking and engaging experience. Instead, the film ended up as a shallow and sensationalistic attempt to cash in on the success of the original. I would not recommend wasting your time on this underwhelming sequel and suggest revisiting the original "Lust Stories" for a more meaningful cinematic exploration.

Best story with great information
marriccabranno1 July 2023
Tamannah stuns as a recently found performer in Lust Stories 2. She can effortlessly switch between maternal warmth and commanding presence, and the effect is striking. The performance of Tamannah in Lust Stories 2 is outstanding. She does such a good job of expressing the character's inner suffering that the audience can't help but take notice. In Lust Stories 2, Vijay Verma shines as always. Because of the rawness and authenticity he brings to his on-screen roles, he never fails to convince. Vijay Verma's acting chops are on full display in Lust Stories 2 I really liked it cause of best informative story it was.

Not as good as the original, but watchable
asfandiq30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Story 1: It seemed like an ad to be honest, horrible and cringe story to be honest. No one needs to check sex compatibility before marriage, if you love someone the compatibility is already there.

Story 2: Best one out of the 4 stories! Unlike other stories, this story was somewhat unique and was very well directed. And it was actually about lust.

Story 3: A bit predictable, that her husband was the one who had her kidnapped etc, but I did not expect the ending! A whole time he was in a ghost town, at first the CGI bothered me, but after the story finished, I realized that it was by intent. They wanted to create a scenery which is not of this world but of the world beyond. This would make a great story/movie of its own, but this story didn't really have any lust in it... it was more like thriller...

Story 4: Every other story in bollywood. Nothing interesting in here...

Konkana Sen - the lone saviour.
surajpnair2 July 2023
It was disappointment to see R Balki come up with such lousy content, it was more of an intentional way of create characters like the one played by Neena Gupta to bring out the narrative.

Sujay Ghosh's attempt gave away from the start with cheap VFX from the first shot, the characters were half baked and at no point there was any excitement left to get amazed once the climax unveils. I am still not sure for what reasons lust (physical affection) takes precedence in this overall plot.

Amit's attempt was mediocre, there were casting issues especially Kajol's, it tries hard to build the authenticity of the era they want us to be in, but the plot structure and the overall casting does not elevate this story leaving it at the surface level.

The only winner is Konkana Sen Sharma's story, it was relatable, intense, and at the same time hilarious. The performance were supreme from Tillatoma Shome & Amrutha Subhash, and they have to applauded for making us believe in their characters. The treatment was matured and the filmmaker never ever slipped into cheap titillation, it was handled aesthetically and beautifully.

Three out of four is a good average
devashishjagirdar30 June 2023
This sequel or a series of anthologies - Bombay Talkies, Ghost Stories, Lust Stories and Lust Stories explore various perspectives and characters with the thematic space they are in in LS2 The necessity of addition and its effect on compatibility brilliantly performed and spearheaded by Neena Gupta, she was born to play this. My favorite of the lot - reflection in the mirror that bridges the gap of sexual desires and secrets. Amruta Subhas and Srikant Yadav steer this home with Kokana's nail biting framing genius. The sad CGI in the third one (yep not even trying to give this a name) justifies an unexpected climax but this doesn't hit a single note, if only accidents were this lustful. Wrong Arrow shows how great Kajol is as an actor and Kumud Mishra is so hateworthy this story is one that is so true it could have happened a million times.

Just bad Story line
amazonprime-609865 July 2023
The creative minds in this space are in sorry state of affairs!

Granny begging grand daughter to sleep around! Really?! And the whole story is about that Obsession!

None of the other story hits any chord! It neither erotic, nor lust, nor a good story! Just plain slack!

I fast forwarded till the end, Netflix India, mine for better production houses, better scripts, name brands are taking you nowhere. Lust stories 1 was enjoyable, this is bad very bad.

I only liked the story with Tamanna in it, the worst is Tilotomma and Neena Gupta!

Save your time, and read a book instead, will not recommend.
