Engaging as usual, but the show's direction is unclear

Almost everyone who's in a relationship seems to be afflicted with doubt and uncertainty in 'All Together Now'. In the case of Masters and Virginia, it's where the line really exists between their work and his marriage. With Austin and Margaret, it's where they stand as a sexually satisfied but age-defined couple. Masters himself has to maintain a false front on his marriage in order to keep the study going. But Provost Scully suffers most of all as a man desperately trying to keep up both a loveless marriage and a forbidden gay lifestyle that threatens everything in his life. The real sorrow comes from his denied happiness on both fronts.

This is a well written episode, but I'm honestly not sure where the show is heading. Like 'Catherine', seeing Bill and Virginia engaging in businesslike coitus seems like a later-season development. Where do they go from here? 7/10
