It is a mystical film

The Melody movie is an exceptional movie in the years full of inflammation and war. The courage of the director should be congratulated. Great pictures, unique location, rare story, great colors. The movie melody is a poem and the director wrote it. Kobayashi is excited about this movie. Music takes a person to heaven. Birds have a great meaning and nature is in dance in this film. The film calms the person. It makes a person think. The director tells us: How to sing a poem with a film. How to depict the meaning. Which judges of the festival understood this film? Can any judge simply judge this film? It is a very difficult film. Tarkovsky should have seen the film. Today's movies in the world are all going towards violence, but it is a human melody.

A movie about nature and music
criticgroup13 March 2024
We watched this film at the Keswick Festival. It had a very strange story. A story inspired by nature and birds, children's music. Many symbols are used in the film. For example, a bird is a symbol of freedom, a scarecrow is a symbol of power, children are a symbol of purity, and music is a symbol of communication between all of them. This film was shot in Iran and Tajikistan and the cultural roots of Iran can be seen in it. Inspired by the story of Simurgh and birds, but in the director's style. The writer and director have used a lot of imagination in this movie. The characters of the story travel in time in their imaginations. Directing is very challenging because it is very difficult to convey the concepts to the audience. The use of nature and the failure of the scarecrow in the story is very interesting. The children, with their purity, force the protagonist to face many challenges. Nowadays, films like Melody are rarely seen in film festivals. Semantic films that express philosophy in a simple way. You can't ignore the scenes of the movie and it makes the audience think moment by moment.

Film praised by Film critic, FIPRESCI member, Doctor of Philosophy, professor

The film surprised me with an unusual presentation of the material. It is being built in a complex language, similar to many other art films. The author is searching for expression of the language for his idea throughout the film. Till the very end, it feels eternally unfinished.

Bearing in mind the principles of using incompleteness in classical Japanese graphics, this incompleteness intrigues the viewer to seek, together with the author, the form and means of finding the realization of the idea. This penetrates the audience mind for creative thinking.

At some point, the main character and the viewer find themselves in a difficult situation, and it seems that there's no way out. But the persistence of the heroine again and again brings her and the viewer into a state of search.

The film raises the viewer to understanding that the connection between man and nature is not as simple as it seems. We can lose connection with the nature, but Melody shows us how to restore it again within persistent work, which liaises with a harmony of spirit of creative power of man.

Thinking over the form of presenting the idea of the author of the film, I agree with the opinion of Ingmar Bergman, who said that not only literature lies at the heart of the creation of cinema. Cinema is more like music: both are opposed to the logic of a momentary goal. Cinema, like music, has a cosmic property. That is why it becomes meaningful and ambiguous, polyphonic, valuable ... In general, any work of art becomes valuable and always in demand if it is based on the eternal values of being.
