'That Cover Girl' defies stereotypes, presenting a refreshing narrative with genuine characters. The bold storytelling takes viewers on an immersive journey, delving into the complexities of each character's life. The cinematography, a visual masterpiece, enhances the storytelling, creating a captivating experience.

Siti Saleha, in her lead role, not only carries the character exceptionally well but also adds depth to the storyline, making her delightful to watch on screen. The entire cast is amazing, providing top-notch performances that resonate with authenticity. The overall acting transcends norms, captivating audiences with its emotional depth.

One of Malaysia's Masterpieces & Siti Saleha's Stellar Performances.
Hanaalma_Azham11 November 2023
If you enjoy stories about love, friendship, fashion, and business, you'll undoubtedly appreciate 'That Cover Girl.' What makes it special is its focus on women empowerment, Muslim fashion, as well as the flaws and challenges faced by the main character, which are not commonly seen in other Malay dramas. The uniqueness, quality, and outstanding performances make 'That Cover Girl' a masterpiece. When I watch it, I feel proud because this drama is one of the best-made Malaysian dramas that looks international, and the fact that the story is original (not an adaptation) makes it even more outstanding.

Siti Saleha is soamazing in this drama. We already know she's a good actor, but in this drama, I can see she takes her role very seriously. She brilliantly embodies her character, drawing me in and fostering a strong attachment. I just love her and I can't imagine anyone else portraying Sofi Safwan as effectively as she does.

As for the cons, I find it challenging to pinpoint any. The quality is much better than other popular Malay dramas, and it's almost perfect in everything - story, acting, cinematography & editing. Even the original soundtrack is good and fits the story's mood well.

In my opinion, this drama deserves a solid 10 ⭐

The Unique Brilliance of 'That Cover Girl'
aadadam10 November 2023
Surprisingly, as a man who loves action movies, 'That Cover Girl' won me over despite its focus on women-led characters. My sisters adore this drama and I find the storyline unique, brilliantly exploring Muslim fashion and portraying bold, resilient women. It's not just about empowerment or showcasing only the positive aspects; it authentically delves into the realities of life's highs and lows, testing faith and friendships. The portrayal is real and genuine. Not to be liberal in saying this, but the story reflects the truths of some modern life nowadays.

What amazed me was the originality and uniqueness of the story, along with its impeccable pacing and flow - a rarity in many Malay dramas. It never dragged, keeping us engaged and excited throughout. 'That Cover Girl' isn't just a drama; it's a rollercoaster of emotions, beautifully crafted with a perfect blend of story plot flow, acting, cinematography, editing, and soundtrack.

I appreciate how this drama breaks stereotypes and delivers a universally appealing narrative. What's lacking is that the story is too short, and the ending is too abrupt for me. Six episodes are not enough; I'm eager to know more about Sufiya's business empire. Overall, 'That Cover Girl' is an A+ Malay drama. Kudos to the team! 👏🏻🔥

A rare gem in Malaysian drama

Warning: Spoilers
TCG undoubtedly deserves a rating above 7 out of 10 stars for its commendable quality. Any rating given below 5 stars might result from a dislike of this genre or issues with the storyline touching on the sensitivities of hijabi muslim women. Some critics may label it as leaning toward a more liberal and urban narrative. However, the story remains authentic, reflecting aspects of modern life that we see nowadays. Yes, the story is a bit brave in exploring contemporary themes, but it's done without being overrated. Anyway, it caters to OTT platforms and targets a worldwide audience.

*Little Spoiler Alert: The storyline revolves around the main character, "Sofi" (played by Siti Saleha), the owner of a Muslim fashion business empire, known for her empowerment and boldness. However, a significant mistake or sin she makes becomes a central theme, testing the faith, relationships, friendships, morality, and loyalty of all characters. Additionally, unlike many Malay dramas that merely mention characters' occupations without showing it,... TCG stands out by showcasing some intricacies of running a Muslim fashion business. We can see how the characters deal with investors and participate in event like Paris Fashion Weeks, which really gives me more satisfaction watching this drama. All this masterfully woven into this well-crafted 6 episodes drama.

As for my 10/10 rating, it's a tribute to the rarity of Malay drama, courage of the storyline, the beautifully executed drama, stunning cinematography, and outstanding performances from the entire cast. It's hard to find any major cons/ flaws in this drama. From the moment I started watching, I was hooked and couldn't stop. Finishing all episodes in one day without a hint of fatigue or boredom. Now, I'm eagerly hoping for a Season 2.🤞🏻

That Cover Girl: Breaking the Mold with Outstanding Quality in Malay Drama
aliaanuar-6165211 November 2023
This drama weaves a tale that breaks the mold of Malay dramas with a refreshing twist. While encompassing familiar elements of love, betrayal, and scandal, the execution is exceptional, avoiding clichés and infusing a unique touch compared to typical Malay dramas on TV. The story bravely tackles sensitive issues related to hijab and Muslim modern fashion, portraying the imperfect reality behind perceived perfection. It courageously highlights the main character's human imperfections and how she rises after a significant fall in her life - this is what attracts me the most.

The technical aspect, production value and cinematography of this drama is brilliant, I must say. The attention to detail is impeccable, amplifying the emotional beats of the story. The interplay of light and angle, coupled with carefully chosen locations, immerses viewers in a visually arresting experience. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor shoot in Paris, and the color grading is beautifully well-done.

Also, I love the cast ensemble and their chemistry. Well done to the casting director and every cast member for giving their best. What impresses me the most is the acting; I can see everyone putting their full effort and going all out in this drama. The performances are top-notch, skillfully portraying every emotion and allowing the audience to genuinely feel each character's journey.

My favorite is Siti Saleha. As the lead, she shines well, delivering an extraordinary performance that transcends my expectations. Her portrayal of Sofi's emotions is impeccable. We can feel her strength, bravery, anger, guilt, and sadness very well. Also, a shoutout to Alicia Amin, Hisyam Hamid, and Aiman Hakim, who also excel, showcasing some of their best performances to date, I believe.

This is something that we can be proud of from a Malaysian product. Showcasing the industry's ability to present impactful stories and outstanding performances. We need more high-quality dramas like this in Malaysia. Great work to the team behind 'That Cover Girl'! 🔥⭐
