When Missy Roberts is found murdered at home shot in the chest and foot while her husband Kip is rafting, Patrick Jane finds that the couple had problems in their marriage. They locate Kip in a hotel with a hooker and learn that they had gone to a radio show hosted by Buddy Hennings and then had private sessions with him expecting to fix their marriage. Rigsby and Van Pelt pose of a married couple having problems and go to the show to try to discover the killer.
"Red Velvet Cupcakes" is a reasonable episode of "The Mentalist" only. The best part is the relationship of Rigsby and Van Pelt working undercover in the radio show. My vote is seven.
