Proud to be Hawaiian
adamkainaluyoung3 December 2023
This is a beautiful and powerful film. It's also one of the very few "LGBTQ" stories I've seen that is not about the pain of coming out or the problems of discrimination, but about the wonderful things that happen when people are free to be themselves and love who they love.

It was also a fun film to watch. Kind of like a Walt Disney adventure story, but with a queer twist. The use of color and light are amazing.

Most of all Aidan's made me proud to be Hawaiian. Before colonization, same sex relationships were not only accepted, they were encouraged, especially for the chiefs. I wish westerners had learned from us instead of imposing their own narrow views.

I can't wait to see what's next from this team.

friendship

Warning: Spoilers
A beautiful story of friendship having as frame the try of colonisation by Europeans of Hawaii.

A chief is saved, after confrontation against invaders, by an octopus. Waking up, he descovers be the guest of a young man, generous to discover his secret places to the chief.

But the fight again starts and the young man becomes prisoner. But friendship is more power than every shadow of fear. And one of secrets solves the delicate situation.

Beautiful drawings, lovely colors and a story who, against its gay content is one of the most seductive definition, in ancient Greek terms , of friendship.

Some Disney touch but the message is the profound significant one.

So, pure delight and noble pledge for a sort of comradery so difficult to be , in profound sense, understand- accepted by many.
