A heartwrenching debut
aturrettini6 September 2023
I saw this at the Cannes film festival and was deeply moved by the picture. Telling with finesse and emotion the torments of a midwife with a complicated love life and one passionate friendship as she gets trapped in her own lies to try and create a new hope and warmth in her lonely life.

Hafsia Herzi in the lead part is mesmerizing, and Nina Meurisse and Alexis Manenti's delicate acting moved me to tears. The photography is subtle and beautiful, and the script keeps surprising without feeling forced or overwritten. Rarely has a debut picture impressed me as much, and I cannot wait to see what Iris Kaltenback will do in the near future.
