Exclusive: Stephen Land, who founded Snapped producer Jupiter Entertainment, has launched a new production company after exiting the Sky-backed business.
Land, who sold the company to the Comcast-backed European studio in 2015, has launched A3 Content, a Miami-based production company.
With credits including ID’s In Pursuit with John Walsh and Homicide Hunter as well as TLC’s Welcome to Myrtle Manor, Land will produce programming across linear and streaming platforms and is also investing in early-stage businesses both inside and outside of the sector.
A3 Content kicks off with a series on Telemundo’s streaming service Tplus on Peacock. Mysteries and Scandals is an anthology docuseries.
The company is also working on feature documentaries and is working on scripted series Dead City, a tween zombie hunting series based on James Ponti’s book.

Lifetime has tapped UPtv Evp and General Manager Amy Winter as Evp and Head of Programming. Based in New York, she will oversee all programming for the network inclusive of movies, scripted and unscripted for Lifetime and Lmn, reporting to Rob Sharenow, President of Programming at A+E Networks. Winter will start her new job in March.
With Winter’s hire, Lifetime is reinstating the Evp/Head of Programming role, which was phased out in 2018 following the exit of Liz Gateley. At the time, her duties were split between Gena McCarthy, who was named Evp, Head of Programming, Lifetime Unscripted & Head of Programming, fyi, and Tanya Lopez, who was promoted to Evp, Movies, Limited Series & Original Movie Acquisitions, Lifetime and Lmn. Renee Zellweger has signed a first-look deal with MGM Television, the studio announced on Monday.
Under the new two-year agreement, the Academy Award-winning actress and her producing partner, Carmella Casinelli, will develop new scripted projects for MGM TV through their newly formed banner The Big Picture Co. with an eye for Zellweger to potentially direct and star in those productions.
“Lindsay Sloane and I were introduced to Renée and Carmella via MGM’s Stacey Levin,” MGM’s president of Television Production and Development, Steve Stark, said. “We were very excited about the type of projects they were passionate about, so we decided to lock arms and do this together. On this 100th anniversary of United Artists, we are honored to welcome them to our studio’s long legacy of great storytelling.”

Exclusive: Before they left Cannes, Bon Aire Productions‘ Carmella Casinelli and Ben Everard optioned Keeping Time, a spec script by Nathan Zoebl. They are partnering in the film with Patrick Cunningham, the producer of Martha Marcy May Marlene. Keeping Time is about a for-hire time traveler who specializes in “preventing” bad relationships. He meets his match with a mysterious woman who also claims to be a traveler and is determined to stop him from completing his mission. Casinelli is the creator and executive producer of TLC’s hit reality documentary series Welcome To Myrtle Manor, just renewed for a season season. Everard is a former litigator at the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. They have a slate of unscripted projects set up with various production companies and networks, and this is their first feature. Casinelli and Everard are repped by Paradigm and Optimism Entertainment.
