Happy Halloween! Dan Stevens is officially reuniting with The Guest director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett on gonzo actioner Onslaught, THR reports today.
Blink Twice star Adria Arjona and Brazilian mixed martial artist Alex Pereira star in the A24 film.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Onslaught is being described as “a gonzo action horror thriller.”
Character details also give insight on what to expect. THR reports that “Arjona is starring as a mother who falls back on a particular set of skills in order to protect her loved ones after she runs afoul of a threat that has escaped a secret military base. Pereira will play a character called The Butcher, and bring his set of skills – including anaconda chokes and roundhouse kicks – to his meaty role.”
As for Stevens? The actor will play a German scientist working on the experiments that escape, not unlike his...

We sat down with the cast and crew of Your Monster to discuss the romantic-comedy.
Four years after releasing the short film Your Monster, Caroline Lindy is bringing it to the big screen this holiday season. Your Monster is a multi-genre story about a woman attempting to overcome life and love while speaking to a monster in her closet. We sat down with writer/director Caroline Lindy and the film’s stars, Melissa Barerra, Tommy Dewey, Edmund Donovan, and Kayla Foster.
Your Monster is a breath of fresh air in the rom-com space that doesn’t follow the same typical tropes we are used to seeing. Lindy’s script is refreshing, and her attention to detail in developing Laura (Barrera) allows audiences to relate to her arc while also rooting for her. Barrera, who acts, sings, and dances her way into our hearts, continues to show she is a bonafide star.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Your Monster.
In Melissa Barrera‘s new fairytail-esque musical horror comedy, she plays a beauty who embraces her inner beast.
Ahead of Your Monster‘s Friday premiere in theaters, the actress told Deadline she was inspired to take the role in writer/director Caroline Lindy‘s feature debut because the character ultimately learns to “not make [herself] small in the eyes of other people” through her romance with the titular beast.
She knows that struggle all too well, having been fired from her starring role as Sam Carpenter in the Scream franchise last year after expressing support for Palestine in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Barrera remains “very grateful and honored” to be still considered a scream queen by fans of the franchise, as well as her roles in Bed Rest (2022) and this year’s Radio Silence horror comedy Abigail. “I think the horror fandom is...

On “M,” a jangly, spacious solitary-feeling song from her fourth album as Soccer Mommy, indie rock singer-songwriter Sophie Allison drops a line that’s at once heartbreaking, haunting, and courageous: “I don’t mind talking to empty halls.” Allison has been making records since she was an ambitious Nashville teen putting songs up on the internet. Every album she’s done has its own shape and feel — from her prodigious 2018 breakthrough, Clean, to her 2020 meditation on broken nostalgia, Color Theory, to 2022’s darker, more noisily cathartic Sometimes, Forever. The jig is up for Fake Abigail.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 10-21-24 promise to continue where they left off, with Steve telling Chad who she really is now that he’s saved Chad from Mark Greene.
For once, it doesn’t stop there. Instead of dragging things out for months, Days of Our Lives will reveal who the phony woman is by the end of Monday’s episode.
(Peacock/Screenshot)
Many Fans Guessed It Was Something Like This, But The News Is Still Shocking
Fake Abigail has been wandering around Salem without a name for a while, which is ridiculous, but many fans figured out she has something to do with Konstantin.
It’s the only thing that makes sense. During John Black’s final storyline before Drake Hogestyn passed away, John was kidnapped from Katerina’s grave and tied up in Fake Abigail’s apartment.

Seven episodes out from the series finale, Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 11 gave us everything that makes the series’ cancelation so painful.
Danny, Baez, Eddie, and Erin all got tangled up in a case where the stakes couldn’t be higher, Frank dealt with a compelling clash between his friend’s desires and his personal values, and Jamie learned a lesson in letting go after someone stole the car that was once his brother’s.
By the time the ending credits rolled, we’d shared another few laughs with the Reagans at one of their family dinners, all too keenly aware that there aren’t many more of those left.

‘Transformers One’ Debuts Atop U.K., Ireland Box Office as Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’ Makes Top 5 Bow
Paramount and Hasbro Entertainment’s “Transformers One” debuted atop the U.K. and Ireland box office earning £1.6 million ($2.2 million), according to numbers from Comscore.
Warner Bros.’ “Joker: Folie a Deux” held strong in its second week, securing the second spot with £1.4 million bringing its total to £8.6 million.
Signature Entertainment’s “Terrifier 3” opened in third place with just over £1 million. The film marks the distributor’s record for its largest-ever opening weekend in the territory overtaking their previous champion “Orphan: First Kill,” which had a £464,616 opening gross in 2022. It is also the highest-opening for an 18-certificated horror film in 2024, over vampire horror “Abigail,” 1980s-set slasher “MaXXXine” and Sydney Sweeney starrer “Immaculate.” It also set a new record as 2024’s highest U.K. and Irish box office opening for an 18-certificated independent film – the record was previously held by rapper biopic “Kneecap.”

It’s spooky-season which means it’s time for chilly weather, falling leaves and, of course, horror movies. We’re celebrating the genre by honoring those that make it so special with a countdown of the greatest scream queens working today.
7. Anya Taylor-Joy Robert Eggers hates his debut film The Witch starring Anya Taylor-Joy
Anya Taylor-Joy took over the high-octane, adrenaline-fueled world of Mad Max with this year’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, but its her work in the terrifying world of horror that gets her on this list. Starting with Robert Eggers The Witch, the talented young actress went on to showcase her skillset in the genre through a wide range of films while working with some of the most talented filmmakers in the business. Split, Last Night in Soho and The Menu are prime examples of what makes Anya Taylor-Joy a true scream queen.

The sequel to 2017 horror Ready or Not is finally heading towards production, original directors Radio Silence and star Samara Weaving will return.
Despite the busy schedule of Radio Silence and the original film’s star, Samara Weaving, there have been talks about a sequel to Ready Or Not for several years. According to Deadline, Radio Silence have confirmed the sequel is happening and production will begin soon.
Weaving will return as Grace, and the actor said recently of the sequel, “I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in…I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together”.
Directorial duo Radio Silence – Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – have built up a hugely successful filmography over the last few years.

Run, run, run! Time to run and hide... again! That's right, folks — five years after pulling off the most fucked up wedding night imaginable with 2019's horror-comedy-thriller Ready Or Not, it looks like the Radio Silence boys are getting set for some more fun and twisted parlour games in the Roncu. Per THR's reporting, directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin are reuniting with star Samara Weaving for Ready Or Not 2. And if even the good word of The Hollywood Reporter isn't quite enough to convince you it's really happening, then check out the below Instagram post from Searchlight Pictures for extra visual confirmation:

One of the best recent horror comedy movies of recent years was 2019's "Ready or Not" -- and now it's coming back for round two.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that a sequel, currently bearing the apt title "Ready or Not 2," is in development. Samara Weaving, who starred in the original as unlikely heroine Grace, will return alongside directing duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and executive producer Chad Villela. Earlier this year, Weaving had teased that she was "all in" for a "Ready or Not" sequel.
In "Ready or Not," Grace marries into the old money Le Domas family via their golden boy son Alex (Mark O'Brien). As part of a family tradition, Grace and her new in-laws have to play a game, chosen by random card draw. Grace draws Hide and Seek, the unluckiest card of them all. You see, the Le Domas ancestors made a pact with the demonic Mr.

To the outside observer it may seem like every single year is called “one of the best years for horror ever,” but I’m going to let you in on a little secret: It’s never a bad year for horror. The entertainment industry damn near runs on scary movies, which are cheap to produce and able to take artistic risks that bigger budget genre films — the ones that have to sell tickets to everybody just to break in — are too timid to even consider. You can always find great horror movies. The trick is knowing where to look.
And that right there is the trick, because smaller movies don’t have huge advertising budgets, and they don’t drive traffic so publications can’t always allocate the resources to cover them. Great horror movies fall through the cracks all the time. Heck, even major theatrical releases don’t get...

When Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan join forces, magic happens. While Marvel has been struggling to get their "Blade" movie off the ground, Coogler and Jordan swept in to make the new vampire flick "Sinners," which horror fans have been thirsting after for months. Home invasion films are a dime a dozen nowadays, with this year alone seeing the wide releases of The Strangers: Chapter One and Abigail. But surplus can often breed creativity, with filmmakers forced to seek innovative ways to make their films stand out from the pack. That’s just what Jason Krawczyk (He Never Died) does with Don’t Mess With Grandma, a gleefully violent comedy that has fun subverting various home invasion tropes.
While working for his company Trusted Trays, a meal delivery service that caters to the elderly, mild-mannered Jasper (Michael Jai White) also drives two hours outside of his hometown every night to do chores for his cantankerous grandmother Granna (Jackie Richardson). While fixing her bathroom sink one evening, Granna’s house falls victim to a home invasion by a ragtag group of bumbling thieves led by Stan (a nearly unrecognizable Billy Zane). Little do these masked burglars...

Five years ago, genre regular Samara Weaving starred in a very cool horror comedy called Ready or Not, which was directed by Radio Silence members Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who went on to make the two most recent Scream sequels and the “Dracula’s daughter” movie Abigail. Earlier this year, it was announced that a sequel is now moving forward, with Escape Room director Adam Robitel taking the helm of a Ready or Not 2 that Radio Silence, still on board as producers, has promised will be “an absolute banger.” Now, during an interview with ComicBook.com, Weaving has confirmed that she is “all in” on the sequel.
When the subject of Ready or Not 2 came up, Weaving told ComicBook.com, “I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in. I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake,...

A sequel to the Radio Silence hit Ready or Not is in the works, with Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan, Insidious: The Last Key, Escape Room, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions) in talks to direct Ready or Not 2. But will Samara Weaving be returning to star in the upcoming sequel? According to Weaving herself, she’s “all in.”
Weaving tells ComicBook.com this week, “I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in. I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”
Samara Weaving will next be seen in Azrael, in theaters September 27.
Ready or Not directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin had explained to Entertainment Weekly earlier this year, “Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out.

Despite her sudden departure from the “Scream” franchise last November, Melissa Barrera remains one of Hollywood’s current Scream Queens and an actress on the rise. And while Radio Silence‘s “Abigail” didn’t stun critics, maybe “Your Monster” will. The Sundance selection hits theaters next month: not quite a horror movie, but more of a genre-blender about a struggling actress who finds a monster living in her closer.

2024 got off to a very rough start at the box office, particularly in regards to mainstream horror releases. In 2022 and 2023, horror proved to be one of the most bankable genres that theaters could depend on in the aftermath of the pandemic. Unfortunately, the likes of "Night Swim," "Imaginary," "Abigail," and others disappointed earlier this year. Things have rebounded and we now have hits such as "A Quiet Place: Day One" and the unexpected $100 million hit that was "Longlegs." One movie stands tall above the rest though, and that movie is "Alien: Romulus." Even more crazy to consider? That movie nearly went straight to Hulu.
On its fourth weekend in theaters, director Fede Alvarez's "Romulus" added another $3.9 million to its ever-growing total domestically. "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" took the lion's share of the attention with a massive $111 million opening, but the latest "Alien" movie is still holding its own. To that end,...

The first "V/H/S" movie was released in 2012, which was actually four full years before the last manufacturers of VCRs, Funai Electric, finally halted production on the medium.
VHS was, for those of a certain age, a seminal and ubiquitous technology. Prior to VHS, the only way to see certain cinematic classics was either to go to a repertory theater (which used to be far more common) and see it on the big screen (requiring a well-curated arthouse in your town) or to wait for something to broadcast on network TV (which was often edited for content or time). With the advent of VHS, movies were on-demand for the first time. One could rent their movies from a local video store and watch them at their leisure. Rosemary’s Baby is an enduring horror classic that helped define two scary movie subgenres: the creepy child flick and the Satanic movie. Fascinatingly, the book that inspired the film was almost about aliens. Here’s why the book took a devilish turn instead.
The book ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ was supposed to be ‘9 whole months of anticipation’
Ira Levin was a novelist who wrote popular books like A Kiss Before Dying, The Stepford Wives, and The Boys from Brazil. Perhaps his most famous book was Rosemary’s Baby, which informed many people’s attitudes toward the devil and the Antichrist. In a 2003 article reposted by The Criterion Collection, Levin explained why he chose to write a horror novel about pregnancy.
“Having observed that the most suspenseful part of a horror story is before, not after, the horror appears, I was struck one day by the thought (while not listening to a lecture) that...

Similar to how people went on vacation with revenge as Covid simmered down, so did they return to cinemas this summer.
Even though this season’s domestic box office take of $3.6 billion, per Comscore, is roughly a half-billion lighter than last summer’s $4.09 billion, chalk that up largely to a Marvel movie missing from the traditional early May summer kickoff slot due to the hangover from the Hollywood strikes (Deadpool & Wolverine didn’t arrive until late July). Last summer, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 delivered $359 million stateside upon its May 5 launch — enough said.
The town freaked out because we were going through a dry period, fearing that moviegoing was hearing the death gong. But theatrical showed a nonstop resilience once Sony’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die lit the spark in early June with a $56.5M debut, commencing a flood of event films.

Nicolas Cage and Sydney Sweeney added new layers to the horror genre this year with their amazing films Longlegs and Immaculate. In addition to those two, the year has been great for the genre as it offered various inventive narratives that spooked audiences and most of them also did good business at the box office.
Sydney Sweeney’s Immaculate had a bloody and bonkers ending | Credits: Neon
Late Night With the Devil, Cuckoo, Abigail, and recently Alien: Romulus, were other films that also made a mark this year with their twisted and narratively creative approach to horror. However, the film that exceeded most people’s expectations was Damian Mc Carthy’s Oddity. Fans are blown away by the bold and audacious storytelling of the film that sent chills down their spine.

Days of Our Lives (Dool) spoilers and updates tease Abigail Dimera (Anna Lynne McCord) recently learned something of her past.
Now, along with meeting her two parents she has met both brother-in-law’s. Stefan Dimera (Brandon Barash) hasn’t elaborated on their complicated relationship, with good reason, we wouldn’t want to overwhelm Abby with overly negative memories right now, and for that Chad Dimera (Billy Flynn) is grateful to his brother for being, at the very least, respectful about the situation.
However, that is not the only sibling in the Dimera family and not everyone will tiptoe around Chad and Abby’s feelings, case in point, Ej Dimera. (Daniel Feurriegel)

Days of our Lives spoilers for Monday, August 26, prove that Kristen doesn’t hand out the Dimera name to just anyone. She doesn’t care what Chad thinks, and she’s not convinced they’ve found Abigail.
Proof or Dare
Chad (Billy Flynn), Jack (Matthew Ashford), Jennifer (Cady McClain), Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) are convinced they’ve got an amnesiac Abigail (AnnaLynn McCord) back in the Dimera Mansion. Yeah…Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) isn’t feeling it.
She’s seen plenty of impostors come through those doors, and she’s not getting positive vibes from this latest wannabe. Even if Clyde (James Read) is behind this, he still may have met his match in Kristen! She’s asking questions Chad has dismissed and Abigail may not have prepared for. Sure, she’s doing it for her own, non-nice reasons. But the truth is the truth, no matter who susses it out.

Days of our Lives spoilers for Thursday, August 22, offer Ej the opportunity to introduce himself to Abigail for the second time. And then pre-empt whatever anyone else might tell her about him.
Second First Impression
Abigail (AnnaLynn McCord) and Ej have a history. They had an affair — in all sorts of sordid places — while he was married to Sami (Alison Sweeney). Since then, they’ve mostly snarked at each other. And then she died. And now she’s back. (Though that phone call suggests all is not as it seems.)
Except she doesn’t remember anything. Not Chad (Billy Flynn). Not her kids. Not her parents. Not Stefan (Brandon Barash). And not Ej (Dan Feuerriegel). We all know Ej can turn on the charm when he needs to. And he may just decide he needs to. To get Abigail on his side. For a reason to be announced later.

Neon's latest wild horror movie, "Cuckoo," has just dropped a new trailer featuring more glimpses at Dan Stevens and Hunter Schafer's already-acclaimed performances. The enigmatic yet apparently entertaining film debuted at the Berlin International Film Fest this year, and /Film's B.J. Colangelo dubbed it a "screeching ride of repulsive sci-fi body horror" in her positive festival review back in April. Since then, strong opinions surrounding the movie have multiplied, with /Film's Bill Bria describing "Cuckoo" as "profoundly strange, nightmarish, and moving in equal measure" on Twitter. Currently, the film holds an 81% approval rating from critics cited on Rotten Tomatoes.
Written and directed by "Luz" filmmaker Tilman Singer, "Cuckoo" tells the story of a teen whose move to the Bavarian Alps is met with a series of sinister events. The movie marks the first horror role for "Euphoria" breakout star Schafer (though Yorgos Lanthimos' "Kinds of Kindness" certainly toes...

The summer horror movie subgenre spoils us all with an embarrassment of riches, but this also means that whenever people come up with a list of recommendations, the same players make an appearance again and again. At this point, you shouldn't need an online list to tell you that "Jaws" is the ultimate July 4th viewing experience. And considering that "Midsommar," "Summer of '84," and "I Know What You Did Last Summer" have the season in the title of the movie, these are also no-brainer suggestions for summer horror movies. Summer is also the season for summer camp movies, so "Sleepaway Camp," the entire "Friday the 13th" franchise, parodies like "The Final Girls," homages like "Fear Street: 1978," and the entire roster of Cabin in the Woods horror movies are all easy picks.

Today, AMC Networks announced that Dan Stevens will lead and executive-produce the third installment of the lauded horror anthology The Terror: Devil in Silver. Writing is led by executive producers Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire) and author Victor Lavalle, who wrote the celebrated novel on which the season is based.
Emmy-nominated director Karyn Kusama also executive produces and will direct the first two episodes.

New Hyde Hospital’s psychiatric ward has a new resident. It also has a very, very old one.
Pepper is a rambunctious big man, minor-league troublemaker, working-class hero (in his own mind), and, suddenly, the surprised inmate of a budget-strapped mental institution in Queens, New York. He’s not mentally ill, but that doesn’t seem to matter. He is accused of a crime he can’t quite square with his memory. In...
