This Is A Very Unique Concept In Bengali Cinema.

"Fashion isn't about how chubby or slim you are, fashion is about celebrating yourself " this is the main concept of this film. This is a very unique concept in bengali cinema. I don't think so, there has been a movie about this kind of thing before.

Director Aritra Mukherjee's Direction is awesome. There will be no talk about the story of the movie, in one word it is great. Applicable dialogues have been put in this movie. The biggest thing is, the quarrel between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law was not shown unnecessarily.

There are some songs in the movie. These are very good. Nice to hear and see. Background music are also good.

Let's talk about acting, Ritabhari Chakraborty (Fullora Bhaduri), Abir Chatterjee (Bachoshpoti Bhaduri), Swastika Dutta (The Biki Sen), Soma Banerjee (Bachoshpoti's Mother), Raktim Samanta (Bachoshpoti's Brother) are the main characters in this movie. They portray their own characters very well. Separately applauded to Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee. Also other casts are there in the movie. They are very good.

Fatafati- a good self esteem booster

Good for a light solo movie day! Topic of concern is good and hence should be watched. There are some exaggerations at some places but as it's a reel world, so we can avoid that part. I felt that at some places there could be changes, like one of Phullora's friends could have been thin so that a negative portrayal on thin people could be avoided. Few scenes are lovely and will catch attention. Also, Poushali did a great job with the Phullora song. Most of the songs are soothing. Even the acting was good. Ritabhari was on point as usual, same for Soma and Arijita. Sanghashri's cycle scene was my favourite part. Overall a good movie to watch if you're suffering from low self esteem, mainly if you're obese.

I have just seen this movie. Now,i just wanna give my honest opinion about this .. Abir Chatterjee as usual very natural in his character of Bachaspati..@ritabharipc as phullora must be appreciated..she justifies phullora so well. Rest of the characters of this film match the vives and tempo..swastika as Biki Sen attracts peoples attention. Director Aritra Mukherjee deserves a wow..Windows as a production house done a great job. So,the story of a middle class girl who is fat but live her life by her own choice. It is a story that tells us how we do our daily chores but never leave our dreams #fatafati.

Excellent execution of a global issue

Aritra Mukherjee's Fatafati has a decent grip on the perils of both fatphobia and skinny-worshipping but manages to distil its size positivity from becoming unrelenting. It's a clever approach too because the film's message weaves in ideas of body neutrality; instead of telling women how they should feel about their bodies, the film basically says they are much more than their bodily flaws or beauties.

Ritabhari Chakraborty plays Phullara, a plus-sized seamstress-turned-influencer from a small town who with the help of her brother-in-law starts a body-positive social media page. A very well executed global issue of obesity and over weighted people . In short I should say it is a masterpiece.

Phullora's story is an example of how one should ignore all the comments regarding one's shape and size and concentrate on his/her work. Success is the best answer to all sorts of criticism. It is high time that we, as a society, stop all these. The film entails some heart touching performance by the lead artists and is a family entertainment. It's absolutely essential to encourage Bengali movies of this kind because it does not promote any negative idea. Go and watch Fatafati and recommend it to all your friends and family. This film gives a positive message which is absolutely essential for today's youth.

Love Swastika Dutta as Biki SEN

Love Bikki Sen. I don't know why but I found her to be very relatable. I have a neighbour, who is always gossiping about what others wear, what they eat, what their body weight is, what their public conduct is like and how all these should ideally be and passes on all the information to her circle. So, all these women are always body shaming the rest of the neighbourhood. I have been under their scanner several times and no matter how much I detest them or want to raise my voice, something in me has barred me from doing that. Fatafati is an answer to the Bikki Sens of the world. I hope all these aunties watch the film and realise what a mess they have been to us. Performance wise too, Swastika Dutta as Bikki Sen has been quite a revelation. She has broken image to do this and hats off!

Director Aritra Mukherjee done a great job. Ritabhari and off course Abir Chatterjee acted so well. Rest of the casts have done their work superbly.. The name 'FATAFATI' really justifies. This movie shows the real truth of the so called society. Now a days body shaming gives such a negative impact on the society. We should thing about this. Not only good look matters.. Quality matters more than it. This movie emphasizes this fact. A simple middle class married woman, despite of every hurdles in her life, keep going on to fulfill her dream. This movie touches my heart. We are not mediocre. We are best. I just loved it. I have given my review and rating. Now it's your turn.

At a time when family values are degenerating by the day and we often champion broken families, sibling rivalries, cheating husband and wife, Fatafati appears to be a pleasant change. I don't remember after Badhaai Ho, in which film I saw these moments between a husband and wife. Here Fullora and Bachospoti felt as if they complete each other. So, when there's no money, they still do their best to share their income and look after the best interests of the family members. Even when they were away from each other, they still looked very much together. I was blown away by this age-old romance between a man and woman in a modern film. Honestly, I did not expect this. Also, kudos to Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee for making this story look so believable. They have done a very good job and I hope they pair up in more such films.

Middle Class Value Grown Up With FATAFATI

At a time when cheating in marriages is shown as the obvious in films and also web series, Fatafati talks about a middle-class world oozing with affection and love, tucked away in a few kilometers away from the big city. There's enough love to keep a family going, even when a financial crisis looms large. Some of the characters are couched in daily comforts, while there are a few like Fullora Bhaduri and Rinku, who want to test the unknown waters. Even when they set out to prove their worth, their love for their near and dear ones happens to be the driving force. I think it is the middle-class values that we have grown up with makes Fatafati different from the films made today --- soul-less and definitely not their heart at the right places. I have seen the film with my entire family and came home loving them a lot more.

Khub e shundor ebong ekti mon chuye jawa film......darun puro.... I would suggest everyone out there to watch the film as many times as they can without even getting bored.... Lots n lots of good wishes and a great thanks to the entire team of Fatafati for presenting such a stupendous film in the tollywood industry.... Really loved it.......and enjoyed every bit of the film..... Khub e notun dhoroner and sobh dik thekei ekta perfect film......it's a great one.....and spreads a lot of deep messages to the society.... FATAFATI is nothing less than fatafati. Fatiye diyecho Windows. Hats off to all of you. Khub bhalo movie. Awesome acting by Abir and Rhitabhari as well as other co- actors. Our wishes to the entire team of " FATAFATI ". Watched it at Inox yesterday.... Houseful at Nandan, Inox South City..... The director as well as the actors were present on Screen 5 at end of show. Lovely movie. We should all encourage this sort of Bengali movie. Very Realistic concept

Watched this movie today, really portrays the real picture in today's world were fat girls are looked down upon, with the world running behind 0 figure and everyone is a rat race to look as skinny as possible this movie takes the brave move to go against these stereotypes, Awesome performance by Ritabori and Abir both shared a very good on screen chemistry, beautiful songs, Hats off to Shiboprasad and Nandita for making such a movie, they always keep surprising is with a different and Unique concept with their movies, their every is best and I really enjoy watching their movies. Kudos to the entire team.

How long have women been forced to cope with this demand? And entertainment movies are equally encouraged.

Almost everyone knows that the general construction of the heroines is created to make the male eye worthwhile.

By 'men' here, however, I am not just referring to gender-identified men. I am talking about a particular mentality. Victims of that mentality are, unfortunately, often women themselves. Even today, our progressive society is looking for a young body in advertisement for bride wanted. The news shows how hard the heroines work to get slim.

A rose of praise is picked up for that sneaky appearance. And, the woman who is away from these, what does she do? For her, there is a feeling of depression and despair.

Sometimes it becomes fatal. Especially, in the case of young people. It is from that place that '' strikes me as a wonderful Fatafati slap.

Fortunately, the wave of change over time is being felt in the media and elsewhere. A few days ago, an actress refused to advertise fairness cream.

She lives next door to Biki Sen (Swastika Dutta), a fashion and wellness influencer who never misses a chance to size-shame her. Phullara's husband Bachaspati (Abir Chatterjee) is smitten with her, her mum-law is not problematic in any real way and she has a supportive peer group. Very little gets in her way in the first half, (except maybe Biki and a fatphobic autowallah), which makes for a sleepy first hour. But we recommend not leaving midway because turns out the makers saved most of the drama for the second half.

A must watch film.. Thanks a lot to Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy. A brilliant performance by Abir . A beautiful storyline. This type of film should be made more. It has a great sense of belongingness . I will suggest all tto go to Your nearby theatre and watch the film with your family . You will really enjoy it. I also went with my family and really enjoyed it . Windows is doing a great job. These type of film should be given priority The story is beautiful . Each and every cast did a wonderful job. Hat's of to Aritra Mukherjee for presenting such a film. You should all support.and enjoy.

A movie very close to heart!

My biggest takeaway from the film is the romance between Phullora and Bachospoti Bhaduri, played by Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee. Their daily exchanges were so real, particularly where they talk over the phone about the distribution of the monthly income; there was nothing forced. They looked every bit in love, enjoying the conjugal bliss, where having little money is not a problem anymore. No one was singing or dancing around trees unnecessarily. There was no forced humour, below the belt jokes, talking lowly about marriage, as it is not a slapstick comedy. It tugged at the heartstrings and also, I saw the audience laughing and crying with Bikki Sen (Swastika Dutta), Behula, Gogol, Arunadi, Seema boudi and the rest. People outside Star Theatre, where I watched the film, were screaming the film's now-famous tagline: 'Amra mota hote pari kintu amader jibonta motamuti noy, fatafati'. What a beautiful story it is!

Soft lovestory with a great message

I am immensely moved by the love story of the lead couple, played by Abir Chatterjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty. Bachospoti Bhaduri is honestly a dream husband, a doting son and a caring brother. He ticks too many boxes perfectly that the bar for Indian men has automatically raised. But I believe there are these men that exist in real too. Phullora, on the other hand, has big dreams that she pens secretly for herself, without knowing how they will ever turn into reality. She lacks confidence at the beginning as her confidence is shaken up by THE BIKKI SEN. But she finally gets the courage to face Bikki and also her own self on the ramp and the ending is truly like a painting in motion. I think Fatafati will go on to inspire many, many men and women out there, who feel lack of confidence because of their body weight.

"Fatafati (2023)" is now streaming on SonyLiv. I've eagerly awaited this film from "Windows Production", a production house I admire.

As someone from a small town in western India, I was keen on its OTT release.

The movie brilliantly addresses the topical issue of body shaming. With its relatable storyline, from the love story of Bachospoti and Phullora to Biki's arrogant remarks and the depiction of driven homemakers, it resonates with everyday experiences.

The performances, dialogues, and songs are impeccably executed, culminating in a memorable final line.

Overall, the film strikes a perfect balance.

BODY POSITIVITY IS THE MANTRA

Life is about ups and downs, and the vicissitudes make life worth living. So when Phullora was dragged into the daily tussles between fat and thin, I was not worried. I knew she would shine like a new diamond at the end and that is what she has done. A movie with a strong message on body positivity, I have seen people laugh and cry with joy as they became a part of the lead character's journey in Fatafati. And in the end, as expected, Phullora goes on to win hearts. I am so moved by her tale that I want to watch the film again. I want to say, not all is lost, ever. So, when life throws challenges at you, don't get bogged down, just wait for the right opportunity and you will shine and shine. That's the message I carried back home. I am ready to take on the world.

Really Nice movie..I have seen it 2times already...perfect for all ages...from script writing to song to acting everything was perfect & relatable......This film again showed that Bengali film is not placed lesser than other films.......rather This film is really FATAFATI, 'an energy booster' for all ages, all person. It's also inspiring, full of emotion , every feelings was present in this film .. Loved to watch it ......I will suggest all to go & watch this film......it's really an unique film. The message conveyed here is great! This positivity is absolutely necessarry for today's generation❤❤💯💯
