Potentially the worst movie I ever watched
sinzeg15 April 2024
Atrocious acting, I don't know why would they make the movie in english. You can hear the accent from 1000 miles away and there is no reason given for why the actors don't speak the native language. I don't have something against the movie being in a non native language, but not in this circumstances, when the actors speak very poorly. It's truly bothersome. To be honest the best parts of the movie are those when people don't speak.

I actually went to the movie cause I was tricked by the name and language to believe it's a british, canadian or American movie.

The plot makes absolutely no sense. Every few minutes a new character is being introduced. At some point you lose count of the characters and you forget which one was doing what. Most of the characters show for a few minutes. There is no development, there are no reason given for the actions either, there is no feeling, no likable characters, doesn't inspire any feelings in the viewer either. The dialogue looks like it was written by a 4 years old, full of clichés.

To be honest, I don't know the ending cause it was the only movie ever that I watched in cinema and I couldn't stay till the end. It was just unwatchable.

A shame to cinematography
lauraapetre20 April 2024
Can't find the word to explain how horrible this movie was. Horrible acting. It looks like they took random people from the street and asked them to star in a movie. They look like they are reading lines from a paper.

Has nothing to do with the trailer which look convincing.

The story is absolutely stupid and super convoluted, to the point that it has no sense.

The movie is not a thriller but a comedy, cause the acting, dialogue and plot makes it truly comical.

The actions of the characters make no sense either.

The English of the characters is terrible and I've watched good movies with broken english, but here, combined with the bad plot and horrible acting it makes it even more ridiculous.

A new step for the Romanian movie industry
deeamihalache15 April 2024
Kingdom of Judas is not a movie for everyone. Is a movie like a puzzle, filled with good fresh acting, beautiful landscapes, an intriguing story and the fact that is fully spoken in English makes the cross-over to the international market. Kingdom of Judas plays with our minds until the story-end revealing. Is definitely better than several international movies lacked of story for which people pay money only because they are international. Is time to continue to go to Romanian movies, to watch them in cinemas, that are made for the international market. And to never forget that we all can decide to be Judas or pure în the living reality. Good one!

Well done

Good job, i like it. In such a versatile industry, finding your place is not exactly easy, so the audacity to use the English language seems very cool to me.

The theme of the film was very well thought out, the success of the actors in transposing themselves into the skin of the characters was very successful, all the actors had an important contribution, which gives them a plus in finding other roles, I liked the character of Anna, but also of Maria, the changes in situations, the director's way of approaching a Romanian thriller, I am convinced that in the future we will hear from all those involved in the project.

The bold idea of director Sabina Lisievici, to write a script in English is clear, an innovation in Romanian cinema, I'm glad that she managed to gather a team that agrees with her and to create an atypical script, with well defined characters and I am convinced that this project was not easy at all, she fought against the odds, precisely because she is an ambitious and very competitive woman the awards won, recommend her as a remarkable actor and director.

I liked their courage to film in English, unpredictable thriller, great actors, reversal of situations, dream locations... I am pleasantly impressed by this film.

First Romanian Film in English Starring Romanian Actors
bhbqtnjr16 April 2024
"Kingdom of Judas" marks a historic moment as the first Romanian film spoken entirely in English and featuring a cast of Romanian actors. In the movie "Kingdom of Judas" the main character Anna tries to uncover the truth behind her sister's tragic death. Driven by the madness of her sister's death Anna comes up with a plan to find out who was responsible for it. The acting in this movie is amazing and the plot is so intriguing, it is honestly the best romanian movie I have ever watched. It is so worth it and watching more than once is even better. Once you know the plot and finally realise what was going on all along, watching it a second time makes you understand the movie even better as you know now where the plot starts to unravel. This movie is a straight 10/10 stars and I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting movie with an unexpected plot.

Amazing and talented Romanian cast
biancabgliga15 April 2024
This film has been greatly casted and it is lovely to see something new in tge Romanian film industry.

No one has ever done a film in English before with Romanian actors so I very much appreciate seeing that. It isn't everyone's cup of tea but it definitely is mine as I understand and appreciate hard work.

A romanian actor learning a full English script is not an easy thing to do and they have all done a fantastic job at it.

The scenery is breathtaking, all locations are perfectly representing our beautiful country.

I love the fact that the director and writer of this film is also the one that produced it, wrote it and was lead actress. What a multi talented individual. We don't see that everyday.

I look forward to see Sabina's name in as many unique projects as possible.

A movie that I recommend
magdalazar-2057916 April 2024
The first film in English.

Congratulations on this aspect. I liked the idea behind the movie, I liked that it didn't go into the SF zone and kept the action close to reality because that's reality. A film worth seeing.

I love the fact that the person who wrote the scenario is also one of the actress, and how beautiful and talented she is. I love the locations where this was filmed, and also I liked how the actors got into their roles.

The characters inspire empathy and draw you into their role. I would like to see more films like this one, I hope this is just the beginning. I admit that the ending took me a little by surprise.

"The best Romanian film I've ever seen
topaelena-6905415 April 2024
A Romanian movie that brakes borders This is a very unique Romanian movie, entirely in English, that looks like an American or English movie. Romanian cinematography breaks its borders with Kingdom of Judas and becomes international. The story is completely unexpected, with a lot of twists and a very interesting ending that leaves you think about it long after walking out of the cinema. A complex plot, colorful characters, emotional moments and even some moments of comedy inserted in a smart way in the plot. I recommend the movie. I think it might even represent a new era in Romanian filmmaking.
