Joe having won the family quiz, but believing dad let him win, David naively accepts to partake in his school's annual parent-pupil history bowl. Realizing he knows nothing about history, David seeks help from wife and Emily, only to find he can't learn from books and enlists Marcus to cast the whole family is 'historical tableaus'.
