Kevin's turn to lead the show
brueggemanntami4 January 2022
I like Ryan. He's a good character with so much potential. However I feel like they keep him in the background a bit too much. He and Esposito have a terrific partnership, but Javi tends to lead for the most part. Ryan always sticks to the straight and narrow, which has caused problems in the past. He follows all the rules. This episode showed a completely different side of him. It was great for a chance to see him shine.

Could've been better

Warning: Spoilers
The episode has a lot of good potential and Ryan is an extremely charismatic character. I liked the fact that he appears more and reveals more of his life, BUT the "woman-of-the-past" he forgot about during 7 years is a very weak link to hold the character's motivation to go through the episodes dangerous events. This background story seems far-fetched considering the character's personality and even more his feeling of debt with the random woman of the past, who always belonged to a dangerous environment even before him and stayed alive for 7 years after he left, risking even his happy life as newlywed in a very critical moment for the couple - it doesn't feel like Ryan at all.
