The Call of Duty franchise has always had new content ready across devices for fans to explore. There’s almost always a new addition to the franchise on the horizon—recently, it’s been Warzone Mobile that the community has been waiting for.
The secret to its fast-paced launches might just have been discovered, though, and fans are not happy. With their perspective on the games completely changed, players are calling out Activision and demanding answers for its decisions.
The Newer Call of Duty Games Use the Same Old Engine

The Call of Duty franchise has continued the yearly release schedule for nearly two decades now. With indications that Call of Duty: Black Ops II might make its way to Xbox Game Pass, fans have started to look back on the series.
Notably, on the Call of Duty titles from 2013 to 2015. Some fans believe this is where the franchise started to take its dive and was no longer the hot multiplayer shooter every year. In retrospect, are these fans correct?
Call of Duty Oldies – Hidden Gems or Still Terrible? Was Call of Duty: Ghosts better than you remember it?
After the release of Black Ops II in 2012, Infinity Ward was tasked with creating the next Call of Duty. In addition, they had to develop it for the upcoming generation of consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Despite critical reception being overall positive, Call of Duty: Ghosts did not live up to the fan base.

Back when I previewed Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in September, I had several concerns about the final product. Would a lack of a single-player campaign make the package feel cheap? And would the team-heavy approach gel properly with the series’ audience? Admittedly, it was a difficult place for Treyarch to be stuck in. The series has been getting long in the tooth for quite some time now, and a blast of innovation was needed. So, while the new additions to the formula were welcoming, it was a question of whether the entire package would come successfully come together.
With no campaign attached, Black Ops 4 is one massive multiplayer package. You have the traditional competitive modes that the series shot to popularity with, along with Treyarch’s fan-favorite Zombies mode. The big addition to the suite of modes this year, though, is Blackout. A variation on the popular battle royale genre,...

U.K., French, and German channels have signed up for “Greatest Events of World War II in HD Colour.” The documentary series uses colorization software to show events from the conflict in color for the first time.
Discovery has landed the series for the U.K., N-tv has it in Germany, and Planete+ will show it in France. The show is produced by London-based World Media Rights. It is a follow-up to the U.K. shingle’s “World War II in HD Colour,” which was narrated by Robert Powell and sold well internationally, landing in more than 50 territories.
The new series runs to 10 one-hour installments, covering some of the landmark events of the war, including the Battle of Britain and the bombing of Hiroshima. The producers sourced archival footage, much of it previously unseen, from almost 40 different sources. The series has rare library footage from Japan and Russia, and the...

Hello, readers! October is only a few hours away now, and beyond the fact that most of us have been counting down to the official start of everyone’s favorite month, it also means that we have a brand new batch of horror and sci-fi releases to look forward to on digital and VOD platforms in the coming weeks.
Easily the busiest day of October (and possibly even all of 2018), there are 11 different movies hitting various platforms on October 2nd, with highlights including The First Purge, Tales From the Hood 2, Sleep No More and Molly. On October 5th, one of my favorite films of 2018, Heavy Trip, is making its digital debut, and Knuckleball, featuring Michael Ironside, comes home the same day as well.
Netflix is keeping very busy throughout October, too, with a variety of films and genre-related series that fans are certainly going to want to check out in the coming weeks.

You’ve heard about Dawn of Justice, but what about the dawn of the X-Force?
Granted, that’s not the official title of Fox and David Leitch’s Deadpool sequel, but considering how Wade Wilson is about to assemble a posse of superpowered mutants, each more bizarre and quirky than the last, ‘Deadpool 2: Dawn of the X-Force’ would be a pretty apt title for what is undoubtedly the second must-see comic book movie of 2018 after Avengers: Infinity War.
But of course, this is just the beginning of the aforementioned team, as the upcoming sequel will likely act as something of a springboard as Fox begins to expand its mutant universe. An expansion that will, of course, include, Drew Goddard’s X-Force. Pre-production is just now getting underway on the ensemble movie ahead of its October start date, by which point Goddard and his team will be directing a “Black Ops...
