Not as bad as others are saying
itsmedwc11 July 2023
Really not as bad as others are saying that it is, it is a decent trivia show and I could see it being even more enjoyable for a family where there are multiple generations watching it together.

With categories covering many different areas and multiple generations it also offers some added knowledge to anyone watching and makes it easy to pick up on stuff from a timeline that you are not the most familiar with.

If you like game shows and trivia you should really give this a try, the corny moments and bad jokes do not make it unwatchable and you may like it a lot more than the few that reviewed this before me.

So in conclusion don't avoid this show solely based on a few bad reviews, give it a shot. And the host Lily Singh does a fine job I think its the clearly intentionally bad humor that people aren't so fond.

Le Grand Frommage
bobus-090161 July 2023
Le Grand Frommage. This is one of the cheesiest game shows to come out of Canada since toasters where one of the prizes.

Can it get any worse without actually trying to be a parody of those shows?

Lilly Singh's overblown forced exuberance, and inability to project an iota of honest interest is #Epic on the cringworthiness scale.

The scripted humour seems to comes from a failed high school drama program that always finishes last in any competition.

The failed enthusiasm and humour from the contestants is so forced, their friends will be teasingly reminding them of it until their dying day.

Managed to persevere through 2 episodes but will willingly claw out my own eyes before watching a third.

Cringeworthy, too slow
shanbarraclough11 July 2023
This show idea had the potential to be really good, but it's just atrocious. The pacing is too slow. I shouldn't feel bored watching a game show. The dumbest contestant ended up playing for the main prize. He gets almost every final question wrong, but because there are a million second chances, he still wins. The questions are really basic. The format would work better if the contestants all played against each other in a much faster pace. The elimination of contestants is more luck based rather than on their trivia skills. The host tries too hard with cheesy puns. The big prize is $25,000. Don't waste your time.

Wow....this is.....poor quality TV.

Had a hard time watching the first episode. The dialogue feels so scripted, forced and artificial with cheesy one-liners and cocky contestants.. The host needs to cut down on the energy drinks and contestants need to answer the questions without turning it into a blog-esque thesis. No way this show lasts. Must be one of those filler shows to keep people employed. The set is insanely large and disproportionate and some of the camera views show a disconnect between the host snd contestants. The premise of the show has potential, the execution has failed miserably. I'd rather watch paint dry than continue watching this train wreck.

The host is trying too hard, the pace is too slow and it all just feels forced!

I really wanted to like this show. I like the premise and thought it would be great to get some trivia knowledge spanning 4 generations. However the pace is just too slow. Even after the intros for each contestant the questions are too few and the answer far too long winded. The set design looks modern but at times it feels like the host and contestant could be in different rooms. And the lack of a studio audience, to react, also gives the show an artificial feel. Speed up the show, add more quick questions and forget all the back and forth chatter. And Lilly, you are a good host, just stop trying so hard and always having a one-liner. This is not your late night show. I gave show 1 my full attention and show two was split into several viewings. Haven't even wanted to try the third show yet! Sadly I feel I am being generous with two stars.

Its just.....not good
ks897129 June 2023
Actually its more than that....its really quite awful.

I like trivia TV, the pinnacle of course being Alex Trebek era Jeopardy. This steaming mess is NOTHING like that.

On the surface sure, I can see how this would have been greenlit by CTV. Get different generations of the same family together and get them to play Trivial Pursuit. Sounds good right? Sadly the execution is shockingly bad and most of it is because of Lilly Singh.

I'll admit, I haven't enjoyed any projects previously led by her and the reason remains the same. She comes across arrogant, smug and like she's "too cool for the room". And above all she's just NOT funny.

Full disclosure I'd be considered Generation X so maybe we're not the target demographic but I don't think that's it. While she might be OK in a supporting role she just can't pull off the lead.

not that bad!
ayoitsrush15 July 2023
This show is pretty good! With a large family with all the generations sitting together and answering questions, it makes it a really interactive and fun experience! Comparing it to alex trebek is a recipe for disaster. It is an innovative show, and obviously in its first season it will have its faults. But i think if it hits the right demographic, it can make its mark! Lilly is proving herself as a good host! If this show had a live studio audience, been more fast-paced and smoothly run, then it would be pretty successful with other audiences! One more season, and i think, that this show can become a staple! It has potential, especially with lilly hosting it. She has come a long way from season 1 of a little late on nbc!

semi entertaining low budget
larryplumstead30 September 2023
I like the idea or concept of the show but it is very very slow to watch.. the rhetoric is childish and the host comes across like a late night infomercial salesperson... cut the fat and add a competition or two to help move it along....would like to see it succeed... with some changes... but I'm finding it more and more difficult to watch an entire episode without either being bored by the immature and unimportant conversions or the drawn out repetitive gameplay... maybe they could take some lessons from the Canadian version of Family Feud where it definitely comes across as a Canadian production but has much more energy.

I'm glad I gave this show a chance!

I was just flipping and stopped on this show. I didn't plan on continuing to watch but I found it was really interesting. I love the concept and the host was very entertaining. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was Canadian to boot. I found myself trying to answer the questions and rooting for the different contestants from the different generations-gen z, gen x, millennials, and boomers. The set was really engaging too. I really think it would benefit with a live audience or even a more background music. It got a little quiet in between the Q and A. Like I mentioned before, I really liked the hostess. She was so enthusiastic, it was contagious.
