This is the first appearance of Dr. Elizabeth Olivet (Carolyn McCormick) on this series since season two's Abuse (2001). In the twelve years in between these two appearances, McCormick continued to play the character on Law & Order (1990), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001), and the short-lived Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005).
Tucker brings up a few incidents from Amanda's past during their interview, which include her pointing a gun at Jeff Parker in the episode Friending Emily (2012), and her gambling problem and debts to her bookie, Connor Murphy from the episode Home Invasions (2012). Tucker also mentions that this is Amanda's second time shooting a suspect in a little over year. She had shot Liev Bodrov in the episode Russian Brides (2011).
Benson mentions that Tucker tried to take her badge which happened in the episode Perverted (2009). Coincidentally, like Amanda in this episode, Tucker attempted to charge Benson with murder as well.
