After losing in a tournament of poker, the gambler Peter Coe goes home with a woman that says goodbye to him. He says hello to the doorman and gets on the elevator alone. When the elevator reaches the second floor, Peter is murdered with throat slit and blood everywhere. Russell, Morgan and Greg cannot understand the mysterious death since how could a person kill the man in ten seconds. Among his belongings is a bracelet from the 1997 Palermo Poker Championship. Meanwhile, Nick and Sara go to a hotel room at the Palermo, where the gambler Trent Aldridge was found dead on his bed with the ankles and wrists tied up to the bedposts. Soon the CSIs believe that it was a S&M that gone awry. Hodges investigate the possible murder weapon and concludes that it should be a playing card. He sends Henry to the crime scene and he finds an Ace of Spades full of blood. Morgan and Brass go to a theater where the magician James "Dr. Jimmy" Nefarro is practicing his number of slicing a throat with a card with his assistant Katy Hill, but he had an alibi for the time of death of Peter. When Dr. Robbins seven raw hearts of chicken in Trent' trachea and stomach, Finn believes the cases may be related.
"Last Woman Standing" is an episode of "CSI" probably more attractive for fans of poker. The plot holds the attention of the viewer and the real criminal is really an unexpected one. Conrad Ecklie is now the Sheriff and let's see if his new position will affect his honest work, since politics are usually associated to corruption. My vote is seven.
