Dramatic and then some

There's more Grayson vs The Initiative stuff going on in this episode, but actually it's an annoying distraction from the really gripping 'on the boat' storyline, which ends in sad fashion.

Played beautifully by all, this is an essential 'Revenge' episode.

goodbye to...

Warning: Spoilers
When settling in for the previous episode, I saw on the DVD that this episode had a commentary track. And noticed later on, after watching no. 13, that one of the commentators would be Margarita Levieva. I instantly had the hunch why. Saying goodbye. Amanda was going to die. This Nate creep...

I am one of those confused viewers of REVENGE, I have posted several reports along the way. It's not like I don't like REVENGE, it's more like it's not as popular with me as I expected it to be. I find the female lead to not exactly be my favorite. Shoulda known, I first encountered her as the judgmental little sister in a small (but key) part in LOST AND DELIRIOUS (which is one of my all-time favorites). But for me the two biggest drawbacks are the change in genre (kicks off like a soap opera, then becomes NIKITA (well, almost)) and the confusing complicated plot lines. Many of which do not really make sense. I sum it up as "contrived to facilitate the story- telling" and I have regularly posted complaints, some perhaps out of ignorance, as I am simply confused.

I have said from the beginning that while I like Margarita Levieva, her character Amanda Clarke, that is, fake Amanda, represents the start of the confusion. This mad little bunny went around defending her slice of the pie WHILE BELIEVING SHE ACTUALLY IS AMANDA CLARKE and this was never, never, never explained. Who is the real Emily Thorne, what was her back story? This subject is broached in the commentary I just watched, but never in the show. Real Amanda watched Fake Amanda act as if she truly lost her father David Clarke without commenting.

Okay, but right now, I just wanna say, let bygones be bygones. There were lots of confusion for me in the series so far, exasperating, but what I watched today...!

Others agree with my view, I saw on Wikipedia. What has gone before, is riddled with confusion. But this episode...!

The honeymoon couple on the high sea, with a stowaway aboard. DEAD CALM, I suppose, not that I've ever seen that one, only read about it. It was basically the first time in the series that there was any real suspense. I knew full well Jack wasn't gonna die, but Amanda... I expected that very strong possibility...

I think they did a great job. If you've watched up till here, and still haven't seen this, you are in for what is the best episode of this season, definitely!

Goodbye Amanda, and thank you Margarita.
