He Got the Hook in the End ***1/2
edwagreen5 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Routine episode where a man who lost his arms and blamed the police during a bank robbery, returns from jail years later and starts blowing away the police he blamed for the incident.

What's really good about this episode is that it shows the contentious behavior that exists between Steve and Danny. Danny is forever criticizing Steve's methodology in the handling of these particular cases. No matter what, this really never seems to affect their personal relationship as they both regard each other with very high esteem.

Technology certainly played a big role in the eventual apprehension of the killer.

Not that much technology.

Warning: Spoilers
Watched this immediately after watching "Hookman" from the original series. Amazing how closely the new version followed the old including many of the lines. Hookman even drove a green Mustang in both versions even though the new series uses Chevys. The biggest difference was Dano wasn't the annoying nagger that he is today. Another rewrite is in the original series McGarrett was at the bank when Hookman lost his hands, in this version it was his father that was at the bank. In this episode McGarrett forced Hookman to drive into the water. In the original you did not know his Hookman's car went off the road till it was pulled out of the water.

As that one cop is shot while escorting a fellow officer's funeral and it is by the same man that has lost his arms but has not stopped him from going after the police.

He seriously wounds fan favorite Duke. But he recovers there. Steve must find out who is targeting them and Five 0 could be next. He finds out that his own slain father and wounded Duke were investigating him.

As the shooting and murderer wants to now target Five 0 in particular Steve.

Danny ruined thus episode

Danny's constant nagging is annoying. Is this the writing or the directing or Scott Caan's poor acting ability?

Perhaps all three.

This behavior was constant through out the series. A lot of this is Scott Caan. A poor actor. His delivery is poor.

Overall, otherwise a great episode with Peter Weller out for his revenge. The technology engravingvthe bullets was interesting.

I did notice the initial wreck with funeral procession. Simple physics says the casket is not ejected backwards in the collision. That's a bad error. However, want the original episode have this same mistake?

A decent episode not having to resort to m achine gun fire.
