Out of all six episodes of Countdown to Apocalypse, I would say this is the only episode worth watching, in my opinion. I'm not a religious, or spiritual person. I find it hard to sit and watch the other episodes with spiritual, religion and other reasons among those to foretell the future. This episode, however, "Future Terrors", looks at a threat that is very real, and could happen at any moment.
Society runs on electricity now. Nearly everything we do is hooked up to the Internet, or to electricity, etc. As they say in the show, "take out electricity, society will fall". This show takes a look at some of the very real dangers of high tech terror, including terrorist attacks, but also a few things such as the possibility of a zombie apocalypse.
This had a lot of information in it, which is why I did rate it relatively low. There was a lot to take in, over a lot of different subjects, and it didn't really give us a chance to sit and digest the numerous different ways of "future terror" that the world could end. Although informative, it didn't give us much in ways of preparing for an apocalypse like this, as much as other episodes have done. I feel like this one episode could have been made into a whole new series and inform us one by one on the different terrors featured per episode. There was enough ways the apocalypse could happen in this episode, that they could have done a whole show.
That's the annoying thing. When there is a good episode, things get very jumbled. There's a lot of information. There's a lot of rushing through the episode to get all the main fear gasp horror aspects into it, without being as informative as many people would like it to be.
However, this was a good episode. It was a bit of a thrill learning how our own technology could turn around and. Well. Kill us all. There's a lot to learn from this show, about what we should and shouldn't be doing with technology, and I think a lot of people could learn from this. It's highly informative, other than being a bit jumbled and rushed, and I think that a lot of people could learn how to survive from this. It's a good piece of media that can be used and enhanced for human survival. It's a bit of a pity not many people are watching.
I would love to see more on future terrors, truly, I hope the creators of Countdown to Apocalypse look at making a series based on this episode. It would be an absolute treat!
