Why didn't Darrin and Sue stay together? I think the show would have been much better if they had.

Valentine's day episode for The Middle making it a yearly occasion. This was a strong episode for the show mixing in the heart of the show with the comedy it does well. Even though the episode was great I have to admit some scenes that just did not work for me. First was Mike and his co-workers and how it built to make an unsatisfying conclusion but that ending lead to a good moment by the sink between Mike and Frankie. Derek and Sue together have always seemed like a great pair and it was nice to see the two characters share the moment at the dance together. Frankie and Brick scenes were bad maybe because the older Brick has gotten the less funny has become as he becomes more human and not a funny young child anymore. Axl and his friends having a breakup service was quite funny and I wish they ended it when they did instead of having all the depressed girls chase after the guys because of what they did. A nice episode that was very sweet with badly written scenes like most comedies these days.
