This film is very confusing, definitely something you have to constantly pay attention to. I felt like this was cleverly written but delivered in a horrible way that just left me wondering what was going on. They jumped back and forth in time a lot but you don't really realize that until half way through. I was hoping that someone else had watched the movie and left with a better grasp of what's going on but the one and only perfect review for this movie is pretty vague

WTF Did I Just Watch?

I watch a lot of bad movies. Just look at my ratings list for proof. So I'm used to dark sets, mumbled dialogue and repetitive music, but I can usually follow the story. I have no clue what this was about, other than the summary. I don't know who were supposed to be the good guys and who were the bad. Maybe they were all bad?

A Burst History

*Plot and ending analyzed*

Anyone expecting a conventional low-budget movie will be sorely disappointed in this feature.

Nothing is spelled out or explained, so we are left to guess at everything presented. It is not difficult, just wearisome to do so. The entire movie is overlong, with no sense of direction or urgency. It is dull, lifeless and tedious.

Researchers on some island are involved with finding a cure for bird flu. Apparently the flu can wipe out a good portion of humanity. So all these numbskulls are put together to make a cure.

The researchers are basically idiots in my opinion. They drink, smoke and talk a lot. But it is all meaningless, much like the movie.

Did I mention the acting is ridiculous?

The female researcher is found dead, apparently she was injected with the virus and her body had a cytokine storm (a body starts to attack its own tissues and cells instead of just fighting off a virus). Okay, how was that for excitement?

The male researcher keeps having flashbacks of when she was alive. This is mixed with the present, and it is uninteresting and tiresome.

He also tries to uncover what the man who is funding the research is up to.

Evidently, he may be up to no good. Perhaps he doesn't really want to find a cure and it might be simply to control the virus. Also, the male researcher may have killed the female researcher, who was his lover.

Or we should probably just give up on the movie making any sense by then.

Towards the end, he goes completely bonkers and kills everyone who is left. He took a bullet to his arm and goes to the beach. He also has the virus in his body, since he had been limping and has an oozing wound on his leg. He also dreamed of this scene at the beginning of the film when he was in bed with the female researcher. So was it all a pointless nightmare? Or an inconsequential daydream? For us the audience, a resounding 'yes'.

Then he recalls the female researcher, and when he first met her on the plane. The end.

No resolution. Nothing at all.

You'd have more fun piling up some bricks in stacks repeatedly. Or flying a kite on a windy day. Or, counting dead flies on a tabletop.

What on Earth..........

Well......I have absolutely no idea what I have just watched! Was it a drama a thriller? I could not follow the story cos it kept flicking between past n present at alarming speed. It was unclear on who the protagonist was meant to be. It was so confusing n I did concentrate.

The acting was good n the characters were indistinguishable.

The ending was as mind-boggling as the story.

I am not sure whether to recommend this movie as it left me baffled.

A revelation

Profoundly told tale that went way under the radar. Pay attention to the briefly heard sound of the music box. A revelation. The writer is gifted. Hope we hear more from him.
