Very sweet

This was an ideal time of the year to watch The Great Easter Egg Hunt, and it puts a smile on your face afterwards. Maybe The Great Easter Egg Hunt is not as great as the title suggests but you are just looking for some heartwarming entertainment you like this a lot. Maybe there isn't much of a surprise as to what happens at the end and maybe it drags at times, but there is much good still. For one thing, as you can see in the writing, it knows what it's trying to do and does so in a simple way that makes it accessible to anybody. Nothing here feels too convoluted for children(the general target audience) or too simplistic for adults. The story is generally charming and sweet, and I am sure there are people out there who will be touched by what they see and find the story interesting that they won't mind whether they've seen the story before or not. The animation is bright and colourful, with all the characters well drawn and the colours the very picture of spring and new life. For me it is one of Golden Films' better looking animations. One may miss the classical music of most of the Golden Films, but the gospel-like music was incredibly catchy and didn't feel tacky or out of place at all. With the characters, the toy characters are more interesting than the human characters, but considering the story I think you'd expect it to be like that. The voice acting is nicely done. All in all, charming and sweet while being neither the best(Thumbelina) or worst(Tarzan of the Apes) of Golden Films. 8/10 Bethany Cox
