While season 4 of "Louie" can easily be looked at as very dramatic when compared to the constant hilarity of seasons 1 and 2, it still premiered with one of the funniest things Louis C.K. has ever worked on, which is saying A LOT! This episode is very loosely structured and mostly works as a series of humorous sketches that eventually begin building off of one another to create a rather clever and, in the end, more narrative structure. The main "plot" just sort of creeps up on you and you soon realize that it's really a direct result of the surrealistically comical moments that you've been watching. However, the small semblance of plot found here is extremely minimalist, and the episode really works best as a slice of life (although there are certainly fantastical moments that work as over exaggerated depictions of real life absurdities) peak into one of the world's wittiest and most surprisingly insightful modern minds.
