Sex & Nudity

  • No Nudity.
  • A man comments "I'd like to take a bath with identical twins and eat a tub of rocky road" sarcastically

Violence & Gore

  • Multiple characters die in different and disturbing ways throughout the film - via implosion, freezing, sentient magnets, and we see a character with wires and electrical tubes trapped in her limbs.
  • As shown in one of its trailers, one of the men has his arm separated from him after being affected by the alternate dimension they were stuck in. It's not bloody, although some might find that both ends where the arm and the shoulder are supposed to meet disturbing (anatomically correct but with no blood dripping).

Profanity

  • 7 or 8 uses of shit
  • One use of f-ck
  • A few uses of 'sh**' 'h***' and 'd*mn'.
  • 1 F-Word 3 GDs ( The Lord's name in Vain ) several sh**

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Another scene from the trailer: a man's right eye starts to look the other way from his left eye, and this happens for some time.
  • May be claustrophobic to some as most of the events happen in a spaceship in space. More eerie than scary.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man starts convulsing and vomiting bile.
  • A man is cut open and device is removed from his body. (some of the incision is shown and his open chest is shown)
  • On multiple occasions people are killed by exposure to outer space without a suit
  • A woman is found bloodied and trapped in a wall with wires running through her body. (shocking and disturbing)
  • A woman is hit in the head and is rendered unconscious.
  • A man is shot twice, blood is shown on the wounds afterward
  • A man is shot offscreen and is shown dead moments later.
  • A monster lays waste to a city and it is suspected that it killed thousands of people.
  • These weird alien brainworms nest inside one of the astronaut's body. He starts behaving strangely and his eyeballs move in a weird way. Eventually, he dies and the worms bust out of his mouth.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The final shot of the movie, wherein the monster bursts out of the clouds is guaranteed to make you jump as it is very sudden. and its roar is loud. On top of that, the appearance of the monster is frightening (best described as an older version of the Cloverfield monster).
  • One man (most people have forgotten this scene) is cut open, as they were trying to find out why he was sick and as it turns out, a tank full (as seen in the beginning of the movie) of worms has somehow found its way inside his body. Very disgusting and makes most feel sick.
