The last pieces fall into place

'The Hatchet Tour' is tasked with juggling a lot of threads but it's the tension - always simmering - that makes this one so entertaining. Art, oddly enough, is the one to really light this fire with his epic tirade over Raylan's hijacking of a prisoner transfer. And there's also suspense with Colt, not just between himself and Boyd for losing Ellen May, but also for killing Tim's old Army buddy. These scenes are electrifying. But it's mostly because, from minute one, we're *so* close to finally learning Drew Thompson's secret. And it happens not with a bang but with a low-key conversation in the backseat of a car. Talk about upending expectations.

In and around all of this is the deepening of the tense relations between the various Harlan families. It's technical, almost workmanlike in its plot thread maintenance, but also absorbing from start to finish.

Warning: Spoilers
All truths are revealed this week including Boyd finding out from Colt finally that Ellen May is alive and kicking somewhere and Sheriff Shelby becomes a suspicious character giving Hunter keys and taking off in Bob's car who once again makes a quick appearance on the show. I'm glad Colt lying has been found out and once again that character does nothing for me other then annoys me in how he is played and written. Raylan in the car with Hunter Arlow's killer provided some much needed funny one liners and then throwing Shelby in as well was good. Patton Oswalt as Bob is once again forgettable as a guest spot this season. Cassie being brought back to find out the truth about Ellen May was OK as she seemed like a random character to reveal Colt failed in killing Ellen May. An OK episode with some funny lines and a greatly comedic shootout as the search for Drew Thompson.

EPISODE GRADE: B- (MVP: Timothy Olyphant)
