Hugo can be annoying, but the rest is pretty great

Hugo is by far my least favorite character in Bob's Burgers. He's become slightly more tolerable in later seasons, but in the early days, he hampered every scene he was in. He's such a childish, petty and vindictive pest to the point where it's not even amusing. Aside from him, however, "The Deepening" is a great episode full of funny lines, especially from Tina. I enjoyed the references to Jaws (some of them paying homage to its gimmicky 3D sequel). The episode also felt larger in scale than usual due to the mass destruction shown throughout. While not quite my top favorite, I would still place "The Deepening" somewhere in the upper ranks of the show. A very fun episode.

The mechanical shark is shown and it is not looking good and even when it is turned on. The shark is not looking good so Bob watches the movie to see how it looked back in time. Teddy still believes nothing good can come from the film and nobody believes he was in the film. Tin believes she can be friends with the shark. Bob calls a meeting to solve the shark where everyone learns it was the kids that let the shark go. Teddy then says they all need to join together to When three plans fail a big hole solves the shark until it eats its way into Bob's basement. It is then up to three men to solve the problem of the shark. When the shark goes crazy Tina comes up with the idea to put the ice cream machine in the shark which kills it. Bob saves the town but still the restaurant is destroyed. Funny episode and Teddy finally was the best thing about an episode.

EPISODE GRADE: A- (MVP: Larry Murphy)
