[Carly takes his hand and he stops talking. Then she leans in and kisses him. They have an awkward moment afterwards]
Carly Shay : So, I'll get my bags and take them downstairs.
Freddie Benson : Why don't I help you with those bags?
Carly Shay : Yeah, that'd be nice.
[when Carly turns around, Freddie throws his hands victoriously up in the air, knowing he finally succeeded in getting Carly to kiss him]

[Carly is sitting at the desk in the loft sobbing. Sam enters the loft]
Sam Puckett : Hey!
Carly Shay : Where've you been?
Sam Puckett : I took my new motorcycle for a little test run! Dude, that thing's a rocket on wheels!

Sam Puckett : Dude, you gotta quit cryin'. It was just a dance.
[the doorbell rings]

[Carly continues sobbing]

[Sam opens the door to reveal Freddie and Gibby formally dressed]

[Sam smiles. Freddie and Gibby enter the loft. Sam clears her throat]
Sam Puckett : Carly... I believe some boys are here to take you to a dance.
[Carly turns around to see Freddie and Gibby formally dressed]
Freddie Benson : Miss Shay...
Gibby : May we escort you to the dance?
[Freddie and Gibby both smile and offer Carly an arm. Carly stands up and continues sobbing. Carly sits at the dining table. To Freddie and Gibby]
Sam Puckett : Way to go.
[Freddie and Gibby stammer in confusion]
Freddie Benson : Carly? What's wrong?
Gibby : We were expecting a more enthusiastic reaction.

[Father Shay enters the loft and smiles. Gibby, Sam, and Freddie are shocked by his arrival]
Carly Shay : But even if I went with Spencer... it's just not the same. And... now I just want this night to be over. I don't wanna go to that dance with anyone.
Colonel Steven Shay : Not even me?
[Carly is shocked and looks at Gibby, Sam, and Freddie. Gibby, Sam, and Freddie smile at Carly. Carly turns around and sees her father. Father Shay smiles. Carly smiles]
Carly Shay : Dad!

[Carly runs up to her father. Carly and Father Shay hug each other]
Sam Puckett : Oh... my... god.

Freddie Benson : Hey hey, look who's back from the dance!

Colonel Steven Shay : What is this?
Sam Puckett : This is a crazy hat spaghetti taco party!
[Father Shay smiles. Spencer puts a hat on Carly's head. Gibby gives Father Shay a hat. Father Shay puts it on. T-Bo walks up to Father Shay with a plate of spaghetti tacos]
T-Bo : Colonel Shay, it's an honour to meet you. I'm T-Bo - friend of Carly and Spencer's.

Carly Shay : T-Bo lives across the hall with Freddie and his mother.

[Spencer and Father Shay are speaking indistinctly. Carly and Freddie come downstairs with Carly's luggage]

Colonel Steven Shay : Oh, no worries, we're right on time.
[the elevator opens]
Colonel Steven Shay : Ok, I'll, uh, take these bags down and put 'em in the car. I figure you wanna say some goodbyes before we go.

[Father Shay smiles. Father Shay and Spencer hug each other]
