Impressive.

In the "Return of the Jedi" Luke did built his second Light saber, but not as depicted in this episode, also that "Luke building his light saber" scene was only included as a deleted scene in the blu ray pack. Whereas, the construction by various characters is included in other depictions of the series which is pretty similar to this one. Even so, an interesting concept.

Firstly I wasn't expecting the story from previous episode will continue, I was hoping for something fresh, but this turns out to be a new arc as the episode ends with a cliffhanger which can only be cleared by the next episode in the story. In this episode the younglings continue their quest of building their own sabers. Then the unsuspecting younglings are attacked by some unexpected visitors.

The followup to the previous episode is extremely good with a good strong storyline and execution. Tough the fact that the ship carrying the younglings was so poorly guarded is difficult to digest. Younglings are future Jedi and they have the freshly harvested priceless saber crystals. Maybe the troops or jedi are busy with the war and could not deploy enough hands to protect the future jedi. Nonetheless a good episode with a nail-biting climax which leaves you wanting for more.

Animation/Direction: Great.

Story/Screenplay: Gripping and strong.

Music: Good.

A pure gripping entertainer.

Kids v Pirates

Following the introduction of 6 youngling padawans in the previous episode we now see them aboard spacecraft The Crucible where they are constructing their first lightsabers overseen by chaperone Ahsoka. The ship is attacked by Hondo and his pirates who want to steal the valuable crystals used to make lightsabers.

The younglings are cute (especially Byph and Gungi) and nice little characters who work well again in this episode. The story of them having to deal with adversity is appealing.

David Tennant is an utterly brilliant actor (Doctor Who, Kilgrave from Jessica Jones etc etc etc) and he is a very welcome addition voicing Huwang the droid who guides younglings how to build their lightsabers. He is great.

Ahsoka is shining as always and R2 has a nice couple of moments while Hondo is a fun adversary.

A really fun episode with a strong cliffhanger.

My rating: 9/10.
