Not much family support on this episode
snoid-116 September 2023
FYI- I love this show. For the first six seasons my Granddaughter and I bonded and shared life lessons while she grew from age five to 11. This episode left us little to discuss because little to know family support can be used as a mechanism to inspire the lovingly inspired comedy that this show is known for.

Bob is invited to be a guest chef for dinner on a recently docked cruise ship, with the Belchers in tow. Linda is given a Gold Card for charges the famile may incur during this short time. Bob is sent to start his prep cook but soon learns that things are not what they appear to be. I found it odd that once the Belchers were told of the true situation they were all in, they didn't seem to care- even though Bob needed their help. Everyone was out for themselves, and the second act of this show was Bob's family indulging themselves and having their needs met. Bob finds that some of the food to be served is rotten and only then he is able to enlist Louise to help him. She does OK but Bob needs more help than she can supply. If this were any other episode he would have had Louise round up the whole family for help. I'm trying not to list any spoilers, so it's difficult for me to show how much each family member should have been concerned regarding their circumstances and sought help from each other-mainly Bob. Bob was finally able to enlist the aide of some crew members and prevail. Gene had his first near-love experience, so we had a moral to discuss after all.

Bob's Burgers Mutiny on the Windbreaker

Warning: Spoilers
Bob asks the kids to try and advertise the restaurant at the docks but of course they fail as it. The Captian then comes to try one of their burgers and offers them a trip on his boat as the cook. They cannot take a trip but a day's trip. When the family are about to go on the ship a crew member runs out trying to warn people but he is stopped before he can say anything. The chef also warns Bob but he still does not listen. The Belcher family make their way around the ship annoying some people. When cooking Bob feels to warm and everyone acts weird around the Belcher family. Bob then notices that the ship is moving and the family become apart of the ship. All of Bob's family seems fine with the trip while Bob try's to escape. When Bob try's to look for help from the other chef he looks him in the walking. In the morning Bob is able to escape and needs Louise's help to get the food. When Bob try's to call a mutiny no one goes for it and the whole ship gets sick from the gone off food. Then everyone joins the mutiny to get everyone back home. OK episode but the whole crazy Capitan thing did not work for me.

EPISODE GRADE: C- (MVP: H. Jon Benjamin)
