Dippy Droids
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic2 October 2020
This is a comedy droid episode which is just plain and simply a kids cartoon. It is what I expected all of Clone Wars to be like at first but of course, in fact, a lot of Clone Wars is serious storytelling and a proper, very worthy addition to the Star Wars story.

This is more like an episode of the old cartoon 'Droids'. It is silly humour, slapstick comedy and no real regard for maintaining serious storytelling.

This is not to my taste at all but it is perfectly fine as a bit of fun for kids. It is quite cute in its own way. It is just a bit of light hearted fun.

My rating: 5/10.

Oh?

I thought this particular episode had its moments. I actually enjoyed seeing the D-squad fight imperial droids toward the end and I actually did kind of like the concept for this arc.

Do we really need it? Not particularly. You won't miss too much of you skip these.

Just.... Why!?

Warning: Spoilers
Were the makers out of stories? or they just wanted to showcase their awesome CGI? I have no idea. This was a pathetic and unnecessary episode.

A so called "war veteran" leads a troop of droids along with a funky droid named "WAC", to infiltrate the separatist ship and steel an encryption module.

One would think it was a pretty much impossible for about half a dozen droids and a 1 foot long colonel. But no! they pull it through and that too with extreme ease. The separatist droid general is easily defeated. The makers have tried to add a little comic element with WAC but that's a miserable fail. At the end I was glad that it is over. I hope we get a new story in the next episode.

Animation/ Direction: Animation was the only redeeming factor of it, direction was average.

Script/Story: Terrible.

Music: Average.

Rather not watch this episode.

The Innocent fun side of Star Wars
marco-galvez23 April 2021
If you take Star Wars too serious or think Star Wars is for grown ups, you will definitely dislike this episode. Star Wars has always had a goofy innocent side to it. What they do with this episode (and with every droid episode) is put all the goofy characters, storytelling and jokes in to 1 arc. Leaving the rest of the season down to the serious stuff we all like to watch.

With the mood of the arc set it can be quite enjoyable, from the light happy soundtrack, to the conclusion of a sweet moral.

I love watching these episodes as a small break from the heavier side of Star Wars, and keeping them separate allows them to each be executed properly and accordingly.

One for diehard fans only.

A very much non-essential episode. No real plot development or critical storyline. Padding which could easily be removed to streamline the series.

I would give this a 8 but bumped it up

Rating episodes 1 must make people feel good or something, I have no idea. I love little episodes like this, instead of the repetitive Jedi gets captured then rescued episodes. I think people also seem to forget this is a show for kids as well. I can see why people wouldn't rate this so high, doesn't add a whole lot to overall story but to rate this 1-4 lacks any real sense.

Quite Good

I think this episode is good, but I can understand why people can think it's bad. A lot of the jokes don't hit, but the ones that do almost make up for it. WAC-47 is annoying in this arc's first episode, but you actually start caring about him in the next episodes.
