Chris Marquette (Bad Country) was praised by critics for his performance in drama movie The Odd Way Home.
Marquette plays Duncan in the independent film, a reclusive man with autism who lives in a middle-of-nowhere town in New Mexico. His life is changed when he meets Maya (Rumer Willis, TV’s 90210 and the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore), who’s on the run trying to escape an abusive past in Los Angeles.
Despite being socially awkward, Duncan is a expert and maps and directions. The two join together to go on a journey across the American Southwest, which helps Maya learn to care for someone and shows Duncan a new world.
The Off Way Home premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2013 but debuts for wide audiences with this DVD and video-on-demand release.

Full disclaimer: I’ve lived in Oxford, Mississippi and have attended the festival for the past 3 years. As a result, I know many of the local filmmakers pretty well, and, as an act of both preventing an explicit conflict of interest while not punishing those who’ve befriended me, the following reviews will be presented with a minimum of evaluative language. Instead, these articles will seek to promote the Oxford Film Festival in the context of acknowledging Mississippi’s willingness to both create and screen its own brand of independent film.
For those who seek it, the small college town of Oxford in north Mississippi can be a mecca of creative culture. Bars pump out hipsters, both good and bad, the local music scene dominated by local label Fat Possum and the satellite bands and music types. The literary scene is just as prominent, although academic and reserved. Nearly weekly...

Rumer has it! Rumer Willis showed off her bikini body while vacationing in Maui, Hawaii, on Saturday. In a high-waisted, vintage inspired bikini the Six Letter Word actress smiled as she strolled on the beach. The daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, the 24-year-old seemed to inherit her parents' movie star physiques. Willis is said to be dating Hard Times of Rj Berger star Jayson Blair after they were spotted kissing in August.
