had potential in parts but Ryan Murphy has some weakness in character writing
jackDee-5656519 January 2021
There was some decent horror here Zachary quinto is creppy and well acted sadly the story behind his character is a pro typical Mommy's boy story, another thing that was unrealistic and in no way would happen is after Sarah Paulson escapes runs into another guy with woman problems, weak writing right there, the best of the episode was the asylum parts but the other sub plots not much really

Another average episode
MomentIMDB10 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The episode is somewhat average, like the previous one although there are some things that have potential. The introduction of the angel or dark cousin is a very good inclusion for the season and it is very interesting and I hope to see what happens. The rape of thredson to lana is very creepy, but luckily lana escapes him but the driver who picked her up committed suicide and lana returned to briacliff. The sister jude part was interesting and its development is very good, although it felt somewhat slow. The best part of the episode is the end, kit escaped and returned to briacliff but an Arden monster chased him and attacked a nun. Frank wanted to shoot Kit but he shot Grace and he died. Now I want to know what happens.

S2.E7 - Escape [8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S2. E7) My Live Reaction / Review for American Horror Story Season 2 Episode 7 ''Dark Cousin''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9.3/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Sister Mary is the boss now that she is possessed. If dr. Arden didn't do the hysterectomy on Grace then who did it? Oliver is raping Lana? He is a total psycho. Lana escaped? That's good. Lana is back at the asylum? Damn, I didn't see that coming. Sister Mary is blackmailing sister Jude? Absolutely demonic. The little girl that sister Jude killed is alive? That's awesome. Overall this episode was good, my rating is 8/10.

American Horror Story: Asylum Dark Cousin
dalydj-918-25517528 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The nurses come in to check on Grace. She then reaches over to the angel of death (Frances Conroy) only to be saved by the nurses who saved her. Sister Mary comes in telling Arthur he should be worried about his operation he performed on Grace. When Mary goes into Arthur making clear she is the one in charge of him. Another patient in Briacliff try's to cut off his hand. A name is written on the wall and Mary knows it well that a spirit may have been summonsed she does not like. Miles is visited once again bu the angel this time killing him. Watching this is Sister Mary with the devil spirit inside her. The real Mary seems to be fighting through this dark cousin but still is not powerful enough to win. Back to Oliver's layer where Lana is visited by the angel of death with him on top of her. The position Oliver put Kit in is not a good one as he may get the electric chair. Lana is visited again by the angel of death wanting death from her. Oliver is giving Lana a way to die because he has problems keeping her alive. Lana is finally able to fight back against Oliver but even when he wakes up quickly she runs away with a man in a car coming to save her. The man in the car does not seem nice to women as he blames her for the problems she had with Oliver. The driver of the car shoot himself and Lana gets in an accident only waking up back in the asylum with Mary looking over her. Jude starts to lose it when she finds the man dead having to call for help. In another flashback we see Jude being accused of being a drunk at the singing club. Also when Jude drinks she remembers things and when she drinks too much she loses it. We are also shown how Jude got into being a nun which was from a freak drunken journey. Jude gets a call from Mary about how she can get rid of herself even though Jude is not listening to anything she has to say. Jude goes out and cuts herself or at least she was thinking about it. She like everyone else is visited by the dark angel. Jude goes to visit the little girl's house, she talks to their parents but then that little girl comes in grown up and alive. Lana wants to talk to Jude but has to tell Mary that Oliver is bloody face. Mary believes her but like the possessed one before loves his work and does nothing. Kit returns to Briacliff with one of those monsters Arden created behind him. The guard shoots Grace and the angel of death takes her away. Rocky start but the episode did get better and once again Lily Rabe is starting to pass Jessica Lange.

EPISODE GRADE: B (MVP: Lily Rabe)

Sorry folks, but Francis Conroy is an unnessesary ham
TheFearmakers14 May 2021
On this season most of all. Conroy has the same expression of a new age woman who seems to look past the person she's trying to desperately connect with. And here they needed a role for her and she plays what? An Angel of death... with wings? Turkey Girl? A new character is introduced (the African American guy) and he sees this angel, and yet we know nothing about him. Meanwhile the Anthony Perkins meets Ted Bundy meets the guy Perkins was playing in Psycho serial killer is tropey and tired, cliche. It's confusing just who "the monster" is and the little girl adds no creepiness by trying too hard to be creepy. Jessica Lange, the best actress on the show, for any of the four seasons that she ruled, gets lost in the shuffle. How much do we have to hear lisping Sarah Paulson screaming in the basement. OK, we get it... she went out of the frying pan, into the fire, fine. But this thing needs moving along. I had remembered watching the entire four seasons back to back that this was the best season, but with all the dutch angles and these unnecessary characters (the "French" girl, Joseph Fiennes, the Israeli guy), it's now, to me, the least of the Jessica years, which does NOT include her contrived chain-smoking diatribe cameo in Season 8.
