Nothing as ghastly as the title implies, 'Bleed Out' spreads personal strife out among several of its lead characters. For Bryant, the Tammi/Internal Affairs investigation is closing in; for Lydia, the struggle of raising a child with no support; for Cooper, the feeling of a nearing end and no one to share it with (while his old training officer lingers on the periphery, beaten down and alone).

God knows I've said it before, but Tammi is toxic; just a horrible character. But at least they're using her offscreen to throw Sammy off his game.

One of the closing shots features Cooper sticking by his old boss as he sleeps off a drinking bout. Nothing but dread in that shot.

On the other hand, this had one of the best Cooper moments. A scene both heartbreaking and pleasing as John comforts a young woman trapped underneath a tour bus. The compassion that's shown here is tremendous for this character and really hits on his solitude when the shift is over.

Warning: Spoilers
While Lydia gets used to being a normal mother Sammy still is fighting with Tammy for his parental rights of his son. Sammy and Ben mostly where chasing after some crazy guy inspired by Travis Bickle and the funniest thing to the episode was the guy getting killed by the dog just for how different it was. Lydia was very motherly as she dealt with a women who accidentally killed her baby and even in the end of the episode she took her baby to bed which is what all mothers do now and again. John has been single lately only really being with his partner and it can take a toll on him with him in the end helping the old man into bed showing his life has become nothing special. Less cases this week which made the episode better with an even more personal approach the show took making every case normal day activities.

EPISODE GRADE: B (MVP: Michael Cudlitz)
