  Dean Winchester : Blend in? Who'd you plant, Benny?

  Benny : Victim number two.

  Benny : If you're concerned about the missed calls, I didn't wanna get you involved.

  [Moves his hand toward his own machete, stuck in a tree stump] 

  Benny : Now, wanna safety that thing? Talk a little bit, or what?

  Dean Winchester : [Clasps his hands down in front of him, still holding the machete]  I'm all ears.

  Benny : Rogue vamp. Came into the cafe a couple nights ago. Youngster, goes by the name of Desmond. He uh, he remembers me from the good old days.

  Dean Winchester : The good old days?

  Benny : I know it's hard to believe, but I haven't always been this cute and cuddly. He's chasin' a memory, Dean. That's all. He's crewin' up a new nest. Hopin' I can give him some cred... I told him no.

  Dean Winchester : All right. So far so good, let's get to the part about the blood.

  Benny : Didn't wanna take no for an answer. He's tryin' to roust me out. Leavin' dead bodies in my wake 'til I sign up. Two bodies in two days. No amateur is gonna kick me out of my hometown, Dean, not this time.

  Dean Winchester : Hometown? You grew up here?

  Benny : [Nodding]  Born and bred. With Andrea gone and you huntin' again, I figured it was time for a homecomin'. You two bein' the only ones who keep all my ducks in a row. Went back to my old job at the cafe... I even met someone to hold myself accountable to. Beat kind of someone, Dean. Family.

  Dean Winchester : [With a slight laugh of recognition]  Elizabeth.

  Benny : My great-granddaughter.

  Dean Winchester : [Re-sheathing his machete]  Really?

  [Guilty face as he remembers his earlier flirtation with Elizabeth] 

  Benny : Now, hold it now. You didn't...

  Dean Winchester : [Nervously]  Uh, no. Heh!

  [pause] 

  Dean Winchester : Does she know?

  Benny : Nah. Nah, as far as she's concerned, I was just another drifter. I'd like to keep it that way. It's been tough, walkin' the line, here - after all those years in Purgatory, not havin' to deal with the hunger - but Elizabeth... she keeps me honest. I finally feel like I got a handle on this thing.

  Dean Winchester : Handle on things? Benny, you've got two stiffs on your hands, and two hunters on your ass!

  Benny : Oh, please. That halfwit that found me at the cafe? I'll take my chances with him.

  Dean Winchester : That halfwit was sent by my brother, and trust me, my brother is not someone you wanna mess with.

  Benny : I don't have time to worry about them, Dean. I didn't think Desmond had an ounce of steel in his spine, but I was wrong about that. So now, I gotta do what I shoulda done two days ago, which is put him back where he belongs.

  Dean Winchester : You know there's only one way to do that, right? And that is for you to sit on the sidelines while I convince Sam and Martin to go after Desmond. They see you out there... they don't care if you're gonna be collecting for the March of Dimes. They are gonna slice first, and ask questions later. You know that.

  Benny : [Skeptically]  You really think they'll go for that?

• Benny Lafitte : [Benny kills Desmond after he attacks Dean]  It took you long enough.

  Dean Winchester : You've lost a step, friend. You need to lay off the junk food.
