Epoch-making in film history.

I'm honestly telling you i really really recommend watching "Flashback memories" that new documentary film by Tetsuaki Matsue, that is screening in Japan now.

I think almost reviewer will explain about what's the story and the film won best audience at Tokyo International Film Festival on 2012.it's perfectly true. but none of them doesn't explain why? why the films is attracting to us? i have to explain why that's my job.

It has two elements. First, how to use 3D. As you know, 3D particularity is we can express distance between front and behind in deeply. Or such like 3D attraction in Universal Studio. but Matue is offering definitely new type of using 3D that's describing together present and past in "same scene". I mean, screening GOMA's memory(past) behind him who is playing Didgeridoo with his band(present). Why it's new? we have to back to how to make film. Basically, all film consists of past, present and future time. For example, we saw someone worries about something in the movie. In this case, director insert the past scene, that what happened to them in the past for explaining their situation. I mean, Director describes their background. Basically these scene are completely independent, never occur in same scene. That's why new type 3D movie we never seen. it's epoch-making in film history. But is this effective in the film? Looking back to his filmography, he is looking for the answer what's the film, what's the documentary through the experience of making film. I know some director having ambition in independent film industry in Japan such like Tuchiya Yutaka, that recent films is GFP Bunny.

But he has not only ambition. What's the difference of between them is Matsue has super respect to film history. This respect leads to new way of using 3D. If he doesn't respect it, the idea never born in the world. Anyway What's the respect to film? We have to back to silent film. Specific way making a film is shooting acting, shooting actor, that is "seeing human". We can't make a great film without understanding human. I can say simple words, "what's the film is describing human." Looking back to flashback memories, Director Matue and starring GOMA who has good relationship since before shooting. Story is simple. One day GOMA who is Didgeridoo performer lost memory because of car accident that resulted in brain injury. At the moment, he lost even memory of what's the Diguridoo ..he believes strongly that "please God! Don't make my memory lose! Please!" He struggle to recall memory with helping family and colleague now. How can we describe his life with making a film? Can we make fiction- documentary style? Probably, that's part of success style. But the style doesn't explain exactly "he may not remember things happened few minutes ago.""moment is precious thing for GOMA"

Past thing that before car accident happen, Present thing that GOMA is playing lovely Diguridoo with his band(they are called GOMA & The Jungle Rhythum Section), Future thing that after a second,

What the most important thing for GOMA is "moment!" GOMA may be lost the moment that is playing with his band now. Layer of 3D style that's describing past and present in same scene is most effective way for describing GOMA's life. I think Flashback memories 3D style will be used next fiction films director.Really Epoch-making film.

you have to watch films of Tetsuaki Matsue from Japan.
